Dealers spec'd cars for stock. They arrived. They'll sell as they're all out of build slots.
Much like the unreg’d sport 350, 410 and cup 430’s they are still all holding on to....

Just an example of depreciation on a 410.

Autumn gold Exige built 2019 sits at a dealer for over a year. Gets pre registered as a 20 plate and goes up for sale at 80K. It finally gets bought late last year for 77K. New owner decides he doesn’t like it so puts it on Autotrader for 62K a couple of months later. Non Lotus dealer snaps it up and puts it on sale for 68K.

Maybe an extreme example but someone has lost a chunk of money.

For what it’s worth I think they are great cars and I wouldn’t give a toss about what I may or may not lose if I had spec’d it myself from new.
I offered that Non Lotus Dealer £65K for the Gold car and he refused to budge so I bought the crazy purple 410 from Parkway Specialist, better colour anyway I think and it had PPF and some nice interior upgrades.Wouldn't have minded the digi dash but you cant have it all

And I did, I note it sold today. I was keeping an eye on it. Quite liked the quirky colour when I saw it in reality and not on the internet. I was ready to bid again at the next price drop, but looks like someone must have stumped up the asking price,

So that makes three of us at least laugh It was a decent buy at £66K if you didn't mind the colour but having tried to buy it at £62K privately a couple of months earlier I just couldn't stomach any more than £65K.

Agreed, there were some more bidders on midlands lotus board who said similar (unless you are one of them!). I went to see the car (through the window during lockdown), it does look good, better than in the pictures, but I set my limit at 65k for it, I think I wanted to be more picky on colour for upwards of 65k, especially knowing that the dealer probably had 5k margin in it as they suggested it came from a desperate seller when pushed, which kind of rings true with the experience the midlands lotus boys had. Ah well. I’m back to the drawing board for now, I really wanted a chrome orange 20th anniversary, but I’m not paying 80k plus for one,

Quite like the blue 390 at oakmere and the grey at b&c. Maybe I just need to get on one of those,

Definitely wasn't a £5k margin. I think it sold for £62k + fees when it auctioned.

interesting, it was listed as a private sale at £62k for a few days in Jan, someone on MLOC offered close to it and got turned down. I just assumed he accepted a low offer from Sytner as a desperate seller, didn't know they got it from an auction tbh.

Just going to wait for the right thing to come up now I think. Had a company car delivered yesterday and my Tesla went on sale or return yesterday to an EV dealer down south, so I've got room for something interesting now. I'm torn between Exige 410 or splurging on a Mclaren 570.... gutted I missed out on the cyan blue 410 from JCT600 that the chap on this thread managed to bag, looks ace smile
