Specific model not registered on V5

Hi

I recently purchased an Elise 220 Cup but the V5 states it as a Elise S. I have spoken to a Lotus dealer who said this happens sometimes depending on how it was registered has anyone had this problem and if so were you able to rectify it with the DVLA? The car is 2017 if that make any difference. Thanks in advance.

I'd just write to the DVLA in the same way you'd update a paint colour or engine. I suspect the chassis would at the time have been registered as an Elise S but was then built as a Cup*** depending on where it was in the build / storage process.

Other models are built like this it would appear. Might just require you to update the system.

Yeah - just write to them, my White RGB Elise was noted as Grey on the V5 - wrote to them explaining and it was changed.

I’ve just bought a cup and noticed exactly the same thing. I don’t think it’s the case with all cars but relatively common.

Let me know how you get on with the DVLA as if an easy process then may do the same although must admit I’m not overly bothered

Well after a few enquiries it seems all Cup cars are registered as S. Are there any other cup owners who could verify this?
