Hi, I’m soon to re insure my Elise S2, I don’t really follow the scene and wondered what it’s value would be around for insurance purposes? I’ve had a look on eBay etc for a guide but I don’t feel it offers good comparisons.

It’s a standard 02 S2, I’ve owned it 18 years, I’m the second owner, the first sold it after 12 months and 1.5 K miles. It’s now covered 38K miles, FSH, excellent condition, garaged all its life. It’s had some paint (stone chips sides and front - done to a high standard.

Any advice would be helpful.

Regards Jim.

Is this for an agreed value policy or just a general idea for a normal policy?

Good question.

Agreed value.

I’ve got 2 other classic cars and now realise how much this is important! Market value is not relevant in this arena.

Presumably for an agreed value you have to get it valued by someone reputable (as it were)? Don't know who does it in the Lotus world. Someone like Paul Matty?
