Okay, I am going ask everyone to please be seated, lest you faint and bonk your heads when I make this long awaited announcement....
Yes, the engine has actually shipped and is now in my shop. Everything looks really good. I am especially pleased with the custom built stainless headers - Very nice.
There is still another shipment to come with all of the ancillaries (Webers, ECM, etc. etc.) along with the transmission. As soon as I have it all in house I will fit things together and post some photos.
I know most of you who have been following this have been amazed at my patience. I am not quite the saint (or fool) that you might think. The truth is the E type "tub" which is being built on this side of the pond is STILL not finished (long story, but understandable considering the situation with the builder).
All I can say at this point is that I am pleased with what I have received. Dave and Chris have been true to their word and delivered as promised. In all truth, the actual shipment went as smooth as silk, and Chris did a masterful job of crating up the engine. (Slower than Christmas, yes. But in the end it has had no impact on the overall schedule - sadly.)
I will keep you all posted as this project progresses. And for all of you new to this and the related threads, this is a project to put a Speed Six in a series 1 Jaguar E type. By some very bizarre coincidence the Speed Six is dimensionally (and even visually) a virtual clone of the old XK engine, but weighs about half as much and delivers twice the power. No cutting of the Jag is required for the transplant.

Following another thread, I fear for the worse. Black Six - what news?
Well, it has been a tad over 12 months now since I received the shipment of the long block, custom intake manifold and headers. I have been waiting ever since for the Weber carbs, bell housing, clutch and flywheel and transmission, not to mention the engine management system (all of which were supposed to follow in a second shipment). The supplier fails to respond to my emails. Does anyone know if they are still in business?m4tti said:
Web sites still up...
And to think a couple years ago the club had this RND dick Turpin writing articles
I reckon one on blacksix's experience might be a bit more enlightening.
Enlightening, possibly, but definitely depressing (especially for yours truly). And to think a couple years ago the club had this RND dick Turpin writing articles

In any event, time to move on. Any thoughts any of you might have on where I should turn to obtain the missing parts would be greatly appreciated. Again, I need the bell housing (not too terribly difficult to obtain I would think) and the flywheel/clutch assembly with splines to match up to a JT5 transmission. (The need for the flywheel and clutch leaves me wondering where this leaves me with the issue of engine balance)
Carburetion/Ignition and engine management will be taken care of from this side of the pond. I was thinking about going to Dom on all of this.
Comments, anyone?

probably best to speak to all of them and see who is willing to invest the time to try to work out what you have, what the best solution is and from that what you need.

Afterall, if someone with no legs and one arm can run the 200m quicker than I can run 50m then getting to a workshop to look at stuff on a shelf should be a breeze.
