Do the Powers, Racing Green, etc. rebuilt engines still require the same 'warm-up' procedure as the original TVR engineered lumps?

Any machinery should be given a chance to come up to temperature and get circulated oil hot and around all the bearing surfaces.

So - yes, I'd always take it easy on any cold engine, regardless of any improved materials used in the engines rebuild.

The short answer is that a rebuilt engine should be treated to the same warm up procedure unless you fancy another rebuild bill sooner than planned.

Alternatively... if you’re only just getting it warm by the time you’re home then you’re not going very far? It takes mine about 8-10 minutes to warm up unless it’s a particularly cold day.

What they all said. I will say though my 4.3 warms through a lot quicker than when it was a 3.6 so it's not that much of a hardship smile

Warm up procedure
Does that mean below a certain amount of revs until warm.
Funnily enough my old RV8 takes about 10 minutes to fully warm up smile

How does the speed six and I assume Mbe electronics control idle. Do you have an idle control valve.

Have you an oil temp gauge, or is that 10 min based on water temps?

Based on water temps
75d being what I’d call warm.
I’d expect engine oil takes slightly longer to reach working temperature but another Tvr friend who does have oil temp gauge has mentioned they broadly come up similarly.

..Alun, you'd be correct with a RV8, but the Speed 6 has a coolant/oil, oil cooler, on cold days the coolant coming out of the rad' to the oil cooler, actually supresses the warm up of the oil.

Really needs a thermostatically controlled by-pass?? for quick oil warm up.

It's interesting to watch the temp readouts (as we all do when the S6 is warming through). The water temp rises fairly quickly until the stat opens at around 80 degrees (by whihc time oil is around 30), at which point the water temp drops back by about 10 degress, but the oil shoots up quickly to almost operating temp within a minute or so.

As you say, would be better without the oil cooler until the stat opens.
