Massive sweeping statement and generalisation, but i've found that the majority of the people that run these try and goad you into doing something wrong by brake checking you or driving like complete spods themselves.
Personally I think this is just the fact that a large % of people are bad drivers. Which translates to a large percentage of dashcam users being bad drivers. Are you spotting the dashcam or the bad driving first? Is it at all possible that these drivers you refer to are either just bad drivers generally, or that they made/make mistakes? Seems to me far more likely an explanation than that they were fulfilling their sole purpose of inconveniencing/goading you in order to generate a "cool vid bro" for youtube.
As someone has already alluded to, it is only a tiny proportion of dashcam users that feel the need to call others out and create videos to upload for the public. The rest of us hardly fiddle with them unless there is something worth reviewing (and in my case, that doesn't include "someone pulled out on me just before I pass them", which is an almost daily occurrence).

So, is the PH line of thinking that the Aukey DR02 is the one to go for right now?
Not had a dashcam in the car before, but a couple of crazy journeys recently has made me think about one.
I'm really happy with mine, the only gripe I have is that you have to remove the card to transfer the video and it's a bit fiddly but hopefully not something you will do very often anyway. Not had a dashcam in the car before, but a couple of crazy journeys recently has made me think about one.
I need another dashcam for a second car at the moment, I'll probably get another DR02.
Be aware there is a difference between the DR02 and the DR02D. The DR02D is the rear camera enabled one the DR02 doesn't not have the USB input for a rear camera.
I have both and they are great, also never had an issue with DAB on standard cables but my DAB antenna is in the drivers side rear window..

Lidl are selling nextbase 112 cameras for £29.99 from the 5/5/19.
Is that an old model? Also are they any good,
Thanks
Biggest issue for me was the lens is not good enough (too slow/small aperture), leads to very noisey capture in low light - which meant on rainy days and in the dark was unable to even capture number plates clearly. Is that an old model? Also are they any good,
Thanks
Any dashcams which prevent self-incrimination?
I have a Transcend dashcam which has an incident button, and it 'locks' the current recording and prevents it from being wiped.
Is there any dashcam which does the opposite? I'm thinking - only commits the current recording to memory only if the big red button is pushed.

I guess technically the unsaved recording parts would still be recoverable until written over a few times and even then.... I have a Transcend dashcam which has an incident button, and it 'locks' the current recording and prevents it from being wiped.

I'd just pull the card and if it's really bad swallow it. Only a tiny micro sd. If you aren't physically able to get the card, well tough luck I guess. Best thing is to stop recording before stomping on the loud pedal.

Get a memory card with a tiny capacity so the live recordings are overwritten within minutes.I have a Transcend dashcam which has an incident button, and it 'locks' the current recording and prevents it from being wiped.

Be careful of High Street retail chains of dash cams who offer a fitting service.
My car is now being booked in at the main dealers to have the tailgate taken apart and fixed (at the retailer's expense) due to their 'professional' fitting service not being very professional and breaking important fittings.
And they didn't even have the balls to admit they had fked up, but let me find out the next day.
Not a happy bunny.

Not possible mate. I think it is best to know how to access your memory card. So make sure the external SD is used and you can always wipe out some incidence anytime you want. You can have access to it via PC. I have reviews of some Dash cams on this site: https://dashcamcar.com/reviews/ that you can turn off and on via a remote. I can't remember which anymore, as there were lots of reviews on the website. You should look into that as well. Has anyone got a NextBase dash cam which drains batteries while they're away?
Mine is wired into a permanent live feed, and the manual did say it would stop drawing power when the voltage dropped below whatever, but just come back from a week away and the battery wouldn't even turn the engine over. Previously the car had been left for weeks if not months without any issues and the only thing to have changed is the camera. I doubt anything else was left on - auto headlights etc all switch themselves off and the rest of the wiring is factory standard.
