Looking for the perfect solution

I am in need of a new car stereo/sat nav system as my current one has died and can't seem to find the right thing.
I have had a Clarion NZ501 for a while, but all of a sudden the hard buttons stopped working. Amazon have been amazing though, and immediately offered a full refund.
I wasn't particularly happy with the sat nav function on the clarion though, as I like a traditional 2D map pointing north, and as basic as this sounds, it wasn't an option on that machine!
So I'm now looking around again, and have seen a couple of units that look perfect :

HOWEVER, both these units are for iPhones and I've gone to the dark side of Android now, and have a year's contract left. I don't want the expense of switching back to iPhone again.
Does anyone know a similar system that would take an android phone?
My 2nd option would appear to be the Pioneer:

But it comes to £700 with the nav unit, rather than from £1-200 for the ones above.
Am I missing any obvious choices?
PS It's going in a TVR T350, and I want it to look cool! No suction cup sat navs etc!!

Brodit holder/charger for your phone, and use the Google Maps nav on that?
I'm happy to use the Google maps from the phone, but I'm ;looking for a more built-in solution without wires hanging all over the place. The Parrot Asteroid also looks good, but apparently has a bundle of issues.

I've given up.
All the single Din head units with flip up screens are either second rate, or hideously expensive.
The Alpine is the only one that is even close to being as good as a standard double Din system. and its £1,100.
I'm going to go with something basic, plus a mount for the phone, and wait until they (hopefully) release something better for 2013.

it uses Garmin for the maps, so updates shouldnt be too expensive like the pioneer ones are!

I have an Android phone (HTC One X), and I bought the Navigon (Garmin) software for it, complete with Live Traffic and a two year update package. I have it mounted on the dash in a holder that charges it at the same time (which you need anyway as the battery doesn't last long at all when the Satnav is running).
All of the data (just over 4GB, 43 countries in Europe),is onboard, which has the advantage of only needing GPS, and not an expensive mobile data link when you're using it.(Big disadvantage of Google maps, and any other programme that loads the data down as you're driving along, costs a fortune driving round Europe)
I used it in July to come over to England from Germany, and it didn't take a wrong turn on the whole route.
My car actually has a built-in Satnav (VW), but with a software actuality from 2008 when the car was built. VW in Germany wanted €230(!)for the update DVD, so the €90 for the Navigon system was a no-brainer. I'm very happy with it, if you use a bluetooth headset, you get the route instructions in your ear, which can be handy when the car is full and they're all chattering away, sometimes loud enough so that you can't hear what Hildegard (as I've named her) is trying to say. And it's quick and easy to change it from one car to another.
