I would like a tracker that:

- Can be wired in but also has a long battery life
- Will turn on automatically when the car is driven
- Can alert me via an app using a PAYG 3G SIM
- Can cut off the fuel pump etc remotely

This one fits the bill, does anybody have experience of it or something similar?

That's the same as the generic TK103 and likely works on 2G networks only.
So a free card from 3 won't work with it, as they only work on 3G.
I got a free card for my generic TK104 from Asda Mobile and expect to spend £15/year on running GPS data.

Once they shut down the 2G networks, most of these cheap trackers will be toast.

Good to know. Maybe this is the one, apart from the battery life. I can probably get around that.

I did buy it. It wouldn't find a GPS signal the first time I tried it, the company said to go outside. I might have another try this weeken

thanks for feeding back. I've hit the buy button so hopefully they're ok. AilExpress have been pretty good with faulty/missing items so you should be ok. I've had a few GPS's that have taken some time to get a satellite lock when they've been moved to the other side of the world. I guess for the hots start it searches for the satellites It assumes it should be able to see. Maybe a reset may help force it to do a fresh search combined with a good open space.

I've finally installed my MT600 in the car and got it up and running. It took a bit of effort setting up steps involved

Install Traccar server on my windows device I needed to change the java app to this one after installing the 3.11 version This gives MyTrack support.
Setup port forwarding on my router.
Setup tracker to point to traccar (you can run a client app on your phone to test your install first)

It's now setup and is sending me texts when it starts and it tracking on the app. Some great stats and shows routes on the free open source app. Very impressed for the money even if it took a bit of pain to set it all up.

I bought one. It never did pick up a GPS signal. $100 wasted.

Stupid question but I presume you had the GPS Antenna plugged in to the right port?

as a cheap alternative or back up you might try tile tracker. They are simple bluethtooth trackers for finding your keys if lost around the home, but if you chuck one in your car when the tile is out of range of your phone you can use peer to peer (8million community of tile tracker owners) to locate your car. Just wait for one of them to come within range of your car and your mobile app will tell you where your car is. Its a popular product so hundred of users within every few square miles. like this:
