Apple Carplay in a Sportage 2014
Discussion
Hi,
You'll need to remove the oem head unit and take a look at the fitting space to see if there's enough room to fit the Pioneer unit. You might need to remove things like fitting cages for the oem unit in order to make the room. Equally, there might not be any way to remove the oem fitting cage so you may need to cut it or, it could just be that it can't be removed.
Alternatives are that you can look at a shallow depth head unit that's also CarPlay enabled - Alpine iLX-700 springs to mind, as they're much shallower and that might mean the difference in being able to fit a unit or not depending on what's potentially blocking the space.
As the OEM unit is a larger than double DIN, you'll need a fascia/trim piece to fit over the front to make the unit look better fitted in the dash area.
Look for a reputable, high quality car audio dealer/installer in your area who may well be able to do the checking for you and advise more on aftermarket CarPlay units that could work and fit. Some of the UK's best quality installers are part of the Four Network
