Using two phones in car on bluwtooth AT ONCE...possible?
Discussion
friend is about to get a new Volkswagen golf. She is adamant that she can pair and USE two phones at once and has a friend with a Tiguan where she has seen this done.
i asked "so if both phones ring at once what happens?"
And she seems to think that you can to take via the car controls.
Very cool if right - but I thought you could only connect one phone at a time (no matter how many were paired to the car) - orders new technology moves this on?
Or is she talking nonsense.

My fiesta does this too.
I had a Fiesta with Sync 1.1 and it coudn't do this. You could have one phone paired for calls and use a different one for audio streaming, but you couldn't have two phones available for phone calls at the same time. You had to disconnect one and connect the other if you wanted to receive calls on the other phone. a said:

I assume the car media system will be busy making the outgoing call and won't accept the incoming call - so it will go through to the handset instead of the car.I prefer this answer:

I have a 16 A class and a 17 Astra nav - both can't
Just in case I was misleading there - the one in my Astra that works is an aftermarket Kenwood head unit. 2005 car. I've got no idea about Vauxhall's own systems. But I can definitely receive and make calls on either phone and I can switch which one is streaming the music by changing the setting on the head unitC.A.R. said:
I was driving around for 4 months before discovering I could connect both my phones to my Seat Leon. Now I can be harassed by my family whilst driving around for work - excellent!
Ehmmm... how old is your Leon? I might discover this feature about 4 years into ownership I swear I've never tried to connect both my phones to the car's bluetooth at the same time

My Golf can do this, it makes you prioritise the phones though and if someone calls on the deprioritised phone it doesn't bring up their name etc just the number that is calling you
Interesting, my Kenwood one doesn't discriminate like that. I'll have to try the LR one now because I'm not sure. I've used the Kenwood in the Astra a couple of times today alreadyGassing Station | In-Car Electronics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
