Hi peeps, I hope someone can help, I'm based in the UK and have 2 ford focus 1.6LX's, one has already had a set of leather seats installed by someone before it was bought (as in they weren't the original seats), it is a 2002 model (now going to be scrapped) and has 3 pairs of wires on the plug for the passenger seat, 3/4, 9/10 and 11/12 and it didn't have any issues with the airbag lights.

Annoyingly the guy just went to work in the 2004 but we have installed the seats into that one and the airbag light is on, a star system it shows the fault as an open circuit on the passenger airbag and won't clear. The plug only has 2 pairs of wires going to it, I have stripped the loom wrap back and there are no other wires hiding in it. I'm pretty sure that the 2 pairs it has connected are 3/4 and 9/10 (or could be 3/4 and 11/12 but can't double check till tomorrow), the 2004 doesn't have any other wires going to its plug but it is split under the carpet from part of the loom that runs from the side of the car into the centre console area.

Has anyone swapped seats in a focus before and know what is wrong here? Does anyone know if I can strip the carpets out of both cars and disconnect the seat loom from the 2002 model and connect it into the 2004 model or is it a fixed loom without any connectors to change parts?

Depends if the car your taking them out of has side airbags, and the car you're putting them into doesn't then you may get an error code. Have both cars got big ford badges or one little and one small? I know the modules were changed and you can't retrofit a big badge airbag onto an early car as they have differing firing rates IIRC.
