Well... basically I bought a rusty Fiesta as a daily and decided to “fix” it...

I’ve owned this car for almost 5 years now so a lot has happened..
now having no experience what so ever in cars, this was a huge challenge at 17 and was a lot of trial and error a long the way.
I’ve had no help other than google on this project.
I just always had this vision of creating a cool weekend car with a track / stance kind of look just by a change of wheels.
I know some will think why waste so much time and money on a pretty worthless car.. and to be honest I couldn’t even give you a valid answer :’)
I’ve always wanted a Supra or R34, but I just couldn’t afford to run 2 projects and pay a mortgage and quitting on the fiesta isn’t an option.

Modifications
1.7 Puma engine / S1600 plenum
Hydraulic Suspension
R32 Rear Diffuser
Shortened Plate recess
Smoothed Front bumper
Custom Civic spoiler
Escort cosworth dashboard
Escort cosworth wheels
Split rims
Wide arched
Smoothed door locks
Smoothed engine bay
Smoothed boot
Rear brake disc conversion
Front brake disc conversion
Smoothed & extended front wings
Kirkey Bucket seats
Wheel well
So much more to list...

Things I’m doing or going to do.
Turbo conversion
Roll cage
Pedal box
List goes on..

Here’s some before & during pictures

The interior with the leather seats and the new dash looks brilliant

The rest.....meh

No point in the engine swap, a set of cams ( shawspeed SS2) and a remap will give 160 bhp on the standard plastic inlet provided you have a decent exhaust manifold and exhaust already.

The Bodywork and lowering etc........its an aquired taste.

Cant fault the amount of effort in it though. Enjoy

Thankyou, the dash is out a escort cosworth and I’ve gone for more of a track interior now, so the leather seats have gone.
I’m also not doing any sort of engine swap.
I’m getting a turbo for the current set up..

Thank you all the same.

As another poster said,10/10 for effort.

Genuine question though, doesn't slamming a car like that completely ruin the driving experience? It looks to me like you'll not be able to turn the wheel more than a couple of inches without rubbing, and the chances of going for a drive without destroying an alloy or bottoming out over a speed bump would be practically zero.

Ah, that makes sense! Sometimes I see these cars and can't believe they can actually be driven!

Looks like a great project.

Fair play to you.
You'll probably get loads of abuse from all the sad old gits on here who can't remember being young, I'm getting pretty old and have long grown out of this sort of thing, but can see why you are doing it at your age.
Fair play.

Yeah that’s very true, not that I care if they don’t approve, but perhaps not the best site for this type of project.
Thanks for the nice comment, Wes

Not my cup of a tea at all, but I applaud the effort and think it's a good way of spending your time (if not your money) tinkering, learning, creating and most importantly having fun. Crack on, sir.

I like it!

Liking the sort of oval racing hot rod (as in Nationals / BRISCA) vibe with the arches, small wheels and aluminum but with a splash of attention to detail. The world needs builds like this as they're a dying breed. I approve of the vision and the quality of the work, doesn't appear to be another scene points botch job so well played. But I agree, you'll need thick skin here a I can see the 'broken suspension' dullards getting the Tena for men beige Y front liners in a twist over it.

Be kind.

I can see the craftmanship. I can see the time and energy and skill

But we all know that less is more.

I am jealous of the time you have, available to do the project, but i am not jealous of the result.

I would suggest burning the finished article.

Sorry

I like it too, nice to see something different.

One of my pals has a Puma engined Fiesta years ago, we caused a sorts of bother in it.

Keep the updates coming and ignore the incoming beards who will no doubt be unable to see something they don't like and ignore it. smile
