At what price? At £1,650 they were a reasonable buy. At todays comedy prices I will pass, and I own a Speedy, so Im far from anti-brand.

Other forums are quoting 50k euros which seems obscene. They'll be a regular steel version along sometime next year no doubt.

The movement is stunning though, and it's impressive that they've restarted production after such a long time.

But, there arent any patents so its free from an IP perspective. Their motivation appears to be solely to gouge and its the reason that Omega have moved from my favourite 20yrs ago, to a psiing curiosity now.

Omega should make a limited edition moonwatch.

I’m amazed at what omega are actually calling a moonwatch these days. There was even a speedmaster with a date on the wrist shot thread a few days ago, it still had the first and only watch worn on the moon on the back. Obviously all those statements are incorrect. hehe

If they’re making a retro moonwatch it’s a 321 in it, why not go for the original case also?

It's not overpriced! The market diktatez if it's overpriced and this will sell out and makes it not overpriced! Bubbles don't exist!

PS I admire Omega for clearly milking the subject for all it's worth.

I didn't say it was overpriced, I said it was obscene.

If it is 50k then that's an obscene amount of money for a watch. I thought 10k was alot, but then my watch doesn't have bits of moon stuck to it :-)

For sure it'll sell well without a doubt!

I had to look up "obscene" because you got me confused. Seems that obscene indeed means "extremely large in size or amount in a way that most people find unacceptable and offensive". I don't know but where I come from this is would imply overpriced.

You seem to have an issue with calling things overpriced on watch forums recently. First on the other Omega thread and now this.

You say obscene means “large in size or amount in a way that most people fine unacceptable” - this is very different to overpriced.

Eg a Lamborghini aventador could be seen as obscene (it’s large in both size and value and most people would find it unacceptable to spend that much money). It doesn’t make the aventador overpriced.

I knew you'll get here eventually. I was hoping actually. Comparing this watch to an Aventador to make a point, you have to be kidding. This watch is like a BMW M140i with retro wheels based on design from 1980's and the trim inserts made with a mixture of cosmic dust and the iDrive controller made out of precious metals. If someone told you you have to pay an Aventador price for it because it's a limited edition commemorating first time BMW partnered with Colgate (hence the M colours on front grille) you'd tell them to check their heads. I mean any sane person would/should.

Well there is meaning and context, mine being that 50k is an obscene amount of money "to me" for a watch, whatever that might be. To somebody else, that might not be obscene amount of money or objectively a lower amount (10k) might also be seen as obscene. It doesn't need to reflect negatively..... Something could also be obscenely good.

That's before you even get to a value of (or your value of) an object.

I can't judge if it's overpriced or not, it could well be good value for all I know, especially being made of rare materials using a historic movement. Again it depends on the person and their value of an object.

If someone sees it as overpriced then it's their right to do so, I don't think they'll be too worried about others such as yourself trying to convince them otherwise.

Try not to worry about it too much, you'll age quicker 😂

I stopped reading at "Platinum" to be honest as I knew it'd be out of reach.

You’ve lost me with that ramble. Just because you can’t afford or aren’t willing to buy something does not make it overpriced.

As a side question, how old are you?

In fact no need to answer your age. The fact that you’ve recently created a thread about a Fiat Tipo diesel gives me the answer laugh

Yes Einstein, you'd derived everything you need to know from that one thread. Well done, here's a crayon for you. I now understand why you don't think these watches are overpriced.
