BMW E60 2008 I - Drive/ Stereo/ Nav Upgrade

Hello, an older Gentleman I know (neighbour) wants the I - Drive/ Stereo/ Nav upgraded to use with his Android phone in his 2008 525D. Can any of you guys recommend someone in the S. Wales area that could sort him out plus install. He lives near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire.

I’m not from Wales so cannot advise on an installer. However, I messed around with CCC units and the likes many moons ago.

His best bet is to upgrade the iDrive screen with an Android version such as this:

There are plenty online and may be cheaper alternatives too.

If he plans to keep the car for longer it’ll be worth it. Better screen, more features, retains OEM features, and OEM look.

I live in South Wales, I could recommend getting in touch with Uplands in Cardiff. They do all sorts of retrofits

Same here, a bit of a trek from Abergavenny but they are very good at what they do.
