Any thoughts on "all season" thinking of switching to these style.
I've just ordered some all seasons, Vredstein Quatrac Pro's for exclusive winter use.I'm hoping they'll offer a better compromise for winter use where I live in the South East (Cold, wet / damp roads, but very rare snow)

If the summers were worn out & ready for replacement, I think we would have seriously considered putting high performance all season tyres on - they’re probably a better compromise for British conditions & there is no need to swap them over in Spring. The Mini, however, has only done just over 3000 miles & the summer tyres still have loads of life left in them, so we took the decision to go for a full winter & swap in spring & autumn.

My car is on Eagle F1 at the moment, fronts are down to tread markers, rears are good. Wast thinking fit all season all round and flog the 2x rear tyres. I replaced the summer tyres on my wifes Cooper-S last winter with Michelin Cross climates - clear improvement in traction andsteering feel with the added bonus of better ride quality. At the offer price from Costco it was an easy decision and in the summer with the type of driving that she does there is no obvious loss of roadholding etc with the Michelins - which have now been improved in their mark 2 form so even easier decision. The Mini, however, has only done just over 3000 miles & the summer tyres still have loads of life left in them, so we took the decision to go for a full winter & swap in spring & autumn.
