Hi

I am doing my national observers test at the end of the month. Any hints or tips please?

Just do you normal thing and don't get too stressed.
be welcoming
have a crib sheet for your briefing so you cover everything
When the assessor is pretending to be an associate, *listen* to what he says, don't just push your points at him (err or her?).
Enjoy it.

Good luck.

This is bases on a motorcycle NOB test, but I expect its much the same

Thanks Oversteery

I note you have to use diagrams / references to driving manual. How did you cover this? My thoughts are take the manual with the pages tagged or prepare some print outs for the relevant sections.

That's a good thing to do. Presumably you know the session subject ahead of the drive, so you can cross reference what you plan to say against the text in the handbook.

If it's anything like the tests I've done, there's not much time to get in everything you'd like to mention. Concentrate on the broader picture and offer more detail if asked. Even better, ask the 'associate' for their understanding of it - they'll be looking for evidence of a customer-focussed approach.
