I just had my beautifully smooth running megasquirted Griff 500 back from service and a horrible part-throttle misfire has appeared. It's fine on WOT but seems to hiccup every 30 seconds on cruise. The megalog shows a "reason-2" fault at these points (i.e. signal drop) with the ECU then winding up the fueling/stepper motor immediately after. Unfortunately I don't know if this is the cause or a symptom of the issue.

Anyway, I pulled a plug and noticed they'd fitted NGK B7ECS which are notresistive. I don't have the old plugs to compare but reading a few things online wonder if the electrical noise coming from these be the issue?

It's booked in in a couple of weeks but if a set of plugs fixes it in the meanwhile I'll be very happy!

What plugs are you guys running? The engine is more or less standard otherwise.

Thx.

Problem solved - got hold of V8D and fitted BPR6ES plugs on their recommendations.
Running perfectly again.

So they decided to fit a different temperature grade as well as non-resistive? I guess you'll not be recommending that garage to anyone.

Can't remember what plugs came out to be honest.

I don't feel too aggrieved as I know the car isn't standard and I'm used to annoyances like this but I do slightly wish they'd test driven it better. I'll give them a call tomorrow, not least to let them know for he future.
