(First new thread in the new Forum!) -

for TVR installs of LS2 / and 7's, but also if it is easy to revert to the cable throttles on these latest gen LS motors - LS6 will not be around for long! Crazy I know - but GM are moving on...

Sounds a worthwhile endeavour.

BTW, you don't win. I do, as I put the VEMS ECU thread up last night.

Why would you want to go backwards to a throttle cable?

Makes life simpler if you are going to use an aftermarket management system. Also, you may wish to fit different throttle types so the fly by wire can be a pain in the butt.

Cost element with aftermarket management though - just keep racking up.

I want to be able to do either with std ECU - this is pretty much state of the art stuff for the C6 LS2/7 only come out this year.

...coz it's an American engine. Fly by wire, ECUs, fuel injection - pah! What's wrong with a big Holley 750 (and points for that matter). Pull the cable, petrol pours in, engine goes faster

Exactly! The only software I'll be using is the cranial type that controls my right foot. Except I have a Speed Demon 650, not a Holley and MSD ignition stuff...

Im the phantom poster, don't know why username did'nt appear.
Were putting fly by wire in both the chevchims with some nice 90mm billet throttle bodies.
So no broken cables or linkages.
no cable stretch or play
Instant throttle response, especially if your running lightened fly wheel.
You can set pedal travel to as short or as long as you like.
Traction control direct to throttle (via motec)not to spark.
And a whole lot more techno stuff I cant get my head round yet.
I just thought if your buying a ls2,7 (ls6 vette only I think) with fly by wire, you may as well utilize it with the factory or aftermarket ecu.
