idea Getting closer to sussing out how to build the beasty now. I've only said that at least 10 times during the past several months!

I'm tring my luck perhaps but ideally I could use a set of wheels, ideally worn, cheap, with tyres on. Something very wide that would in normal circumstances fit a standard Cerbera, except that they would be far to wide, especially the rears. These also need to be something that could be replaced later on with something new.

I hope this makes sense.. I know offsets are an issue, so also looking for advice and ideas.

Cheers

My advice would be to have them welded out of steel.
Paint them flat black and they will look very purposeful.
They will be inexpensive, you may find used (up smile) tyres for them and you can replace them later when you've solved all of the clearance, offset and handling issues.

This was a specific wheel question but there is a speed 12 project thread running, if you fancy a read. However, project is now more like a car that TVR could have built. It isn't exactly a speed 12 when standing back and looking at the current plan.

I just happen to own a very nice body shell..... one of the speed 12 race cars and lots and lots of spare bits. It is not a practical option to bang a v12 in though as it is just too expensive and heavy etc etc. Should be fun though.. Only issue is it is looking like a very expensive project and I'm not sure I will call it a speed 12 when it is finished as it will really be too different from the original. It is intended to be a road going car that actually works on the road as opposed to just a converted track car. There is another thread called Project Speed 12 which has lots of details on it. I haven't set up a web site yet. Maybe I will if anyone else wants to buy one when it's finished...

Gotcha - found it - I'll stay in here - try to avoid the General area - full of cretins that know next to nothing about the nuts and bolts of cars. Would be good with a Wortec Blown LS (easy 600 bhp if Supecharged or 700+ if you go twin blower), I would not touch any SP6 even untuned let alone with a blower on it.

Webite - check out freewebs - I doodle on one about my toy - if people ask the inevitable question you just send them the link wink

A little taster! Final result will be quite a bit different to the point where I'm not sure if it will be called a speed 12. A difficult decison is how close to the original to keep it or just give up and design a new car completely albeit with a bit of a speed 12 flavour. I wonder if anyone else would want one?

Graham, can't you use standard Cerby wheels.
Machine some alloy spacers to get you the desired width to fill the arches.
Then you can have some custom alloy wheels made to suit when the project is completed.

Hope that makes sense

I have some 16" you can have for £50 for a set. Could you machine the rims off and then split rim them? That would look factory and fat!

Apologies, don't have much time to even lurk on PH these days. Car has been up and running for quite a while, well about a year. Plenty of road testing has been done and she runs very well.

Anyhow, a little taster for you.
