Need to get a photo in daylight but… Wheels from my silver P80 and paint matched egg crate grill now swapped over to the red one. Big list of jobs planned for the 22nd including clutch, slave and full, full service of all fluids, filters & plugs… the works!
Hopefully on the road in time for Xmas! Desperately needs lowering
Nothing special like a lot of these but I have gone business use only with my company car as it was costing me 300 odd quid for a 2016 Passat 1.6d.
The wife's car was a 2 door black and red fiesta, but of a squeeze for my 6ft1 lad in the back.
Not sporty in the least and my sensible head wone out and I got a T3 fwd as apposed to the T5 awd my heart wanted.
We test drove this and it drives very nicely, if pushed hard the 3pot makes some odd noises but it's quick enough 0 to 60 in 9.2.
On a 300 mile run I got 44mpg at 70 ish mph.
Again my sensible head went for this one with not that much kit on it so it kept the cost down and there is less to go wrong.
Would have liked the 360 cam but such is life and this has a rear cam.
Never had any interest in a heated steering wheel but now I have one and can switch it on with the remote start it's pretty nice.

Our “first” Volvo, between my wife and I. However not the first on my side of the family, having had 850, S70, P2 V70, S80, V40 and XC60 over the past 30 years.
This took about 6 months to find; a late model P3 V70, right from the end of V70 production. We were specifically looking for one with cream leather, walnut inlays and wood rimmed steering wheel, which took a while.
D4, auto, 60k miles or thereabouts. Winter pack which is lovely. Aside from the lack of a fifth cylinder and sluggish accelerator response (my old diesel Rover 75 is like a whippet compared to the Volvo), the only thing I don’t like are the wheels. Silly sporty-esque 18” things, would much rather some smarter 17’s and a better ride.
Unfortunately a dimwit in a Golf not paying attention managed to embed his car into the back of the Volvo last week, when traffic came to a standstill on the motorway and he, well, didn’t. His Golf will be a write off and yet we were able to drive the Volvo home. Initial inspections appear to limit damage to just the bumper; power tailgate still opens/closes as it should, tail lamps are all unscathed, the spare well shows no signs of creases and no damage visible underneath. Still awaiting insurance repair estimate but I’m hoping it’ll be repaired and we can have it back ASAP, as it’s a lovely car and will be hard to find another.
My own very first foray in to Volvo ownership: 13 plate V40 D3 SE Lux Nav. Arrived on Tuesday
It's leaps and bounds ahead of my outgoing 320D too...
I've also got the upgraded stereo with many speakers, cream leather, panoramic roof, Xenons, heated windscreen and more besides
No footrest though, which is odd - I'm trying to see if I can retro fit that one. I need to fit my front and rear dashcam too - that'll be fun

Will be my first Volvo when it gets here early Summer.

Just bought this, my first Volvo, and started a Readers Cars thread.
Now thinking of changing the main family car for maybe a Volvo v/xc 70. Prefer petrol but I guess most are diesel. Budget around £6k. Please direct me to buyers guide reference material. Am I right in thinking geartronic auto can be problematic?

Looked at buying a new new car, but when faced with a sea of crossovers, over complicated tech and a boring designs with useless boots, i’ve made the decision to stay ‘analogue’. So, a 2006 V70 2.4 Ocean Race with a huge 49,000 miles from new. It’s sat outside my sister in laws place in the Netherlands as i type, having completed its first road trip with not a beat missed. I’ve put some all season tyres on and had the timing belt/pump changed as a precaution. Other than that, it’s actually quite lovely and i’ve already grown very attached to it. It drives like new, and even my dad (who reached peak volvo with a V90 3.0 CD) approves.
Oh, and the seats! forgot just how comfortable Volvo seats are.

My TVR had to go as a little one has arrived and I started a new job without a company car.I'd always fancied one of these since I collected a new S60 2.0t back in 2003 and the saleman showed me a R that had just arrived. I know that it's thirsty, and has a cack turning circle. I know it's not that quick and torque limited in 1st and 2nd. I know that it rattles a bit, but this one is loads better than any other I tried. Best of all it has KW V2 Suspension that's pretty well set up so it rides, and handles and I don't need to worry about the 4c system.
