I'll do my best at the "look after it" bit. Got to tell you that it's a bloody good giggle! You'd better have understanding neighbours though as the noise it makes on a cold start is simply rude.

Quick update:
I'm now 7 weeks into the 'ownership experience' and still loving every minute. A business trip to Germany in week one gave me a chance to exercise the old girl properly, which was nice. Getting decent mpgs (27 average) despite numerous splendid B road blasts, although I've not yet taken the owner's manual advice of turning off the ESC to 'enjoy your favorite road'. Gotta love the Polestar chaps. Gives a rear bias to the AWD system apparently. I'll let you know how that goes when my undercarriage reaches the prerequisite dimensions. Possibly from the wrong side of a hedge. (I'm joking of course. I drive a Volvo for chuffs sake. May dislodge my flat cap).
The rear bias AWD is surprisingly rear biased, I drive a 370Z and am used to a twitchy back end, putting the P* in ESC sport mode and being silly caught me completely by surprise, it does get worryingly sideways if provoked.

Maybe I should approach the ESC button then . . (been keeping a wide berth so far!)

Its difficult to get it to break traction and slide but once it does it kinda doesn't want to stop too easy, try it either in the wet or if in the dry a wide open space!

I know its not Easter, so apologies for the thread resurrection. I'm after a fast estate and I'm liking the polestar. Any feedback from owners?

It's still great ! Road tax is expensive, MPG is not good around town. I got the front tyres down to the canvas in time for it's 12 month service (8k miles), but other than that it's still a hoot to drive and very very quick. The new 4 cylinder version with 8 speed box has even more power, but I'm not sure they're in the UK yet.

Thanks, I currently drive an 07 Defender so crap MPG and high tax wont come as a shock. The rarity of P* has kept residuals high for second hand stock, so I'm thinking new will be a better buy.

I think there are still some new/pre-reg delivery mile six cylinders in stock somewhere in the country

With only 100 out there I don't see the depreciation of other Volvos, once the initial hit has occurred? Very interested to see what discounts are available on the 5 pot model. Going to see a couple of cars on Saturday.

There is no five pot model. Straight six three litre, turbo or two litre four with turbo & supercharger

Want to bet? They'll probably depreciate very fast but bottom out and stay there for a long time, same as the V70R and S60R did and have.
Still pretty much the same price as this time last year too.....

Was offered a pre-registered 6-cyl V60P* with delivery mileage for £39k when I enquired a few months back - even had a choice of all 4 colours!! The new 4-cyl variants are already being offered with a 20% discount, for delivery in Jan 2017. I'm guessing that with the new VED bands coming in in April, £39995 will be the starting point for any price negotiations!!biggrin

Anyone on here bought the rebel blue car that was advertised at Volvo Chigwell? Price had been reduced to £28,995 and looked a good buy. Started looking at these a few weeks back and like many others wonder what price they will level out at. Even so that is a great saving over list price. A year old car with only 7k miles...
