Any point changing gearbox oil?

After the gearbox in my last car fell to bits, I'd like to ensure that this one has a long and healthy life.

It's an M66 in my C30 D4. The car is at 46,000 miles.

Is the general consensus that this is worthwhile, or a waste of money? I intend to keep the car for a long time.

Just looking in to do the same as we speak, also have an M66 equipped car.

Volvo part number is 31280771 but seems pricey at £20 a litre (ish) and you need two... some digging would suggest it's a fully synthetic 75W/90 fluid so commercially available.

Mine is on 130k so hoping for a significant improvement as it does feel a bit stiff through the gears.
