V40 Start/Stop has...stopped!

MY2013 V40 D2's start/stop has decided it doesn't want to function much anymore. It's always active, and a couple of times lately it has caught me by surprise and has worked correctly, but now it seems to not work correctly.

All the criteria is met for it to work correctly when I pull up to a junction, or traffic lights, or stationary traffic, but it just doesn't anymore. Any thoughts or similar experiences please? It's strange how it was working fine, then stopped working, then worked sporadically, and has now stopped working. Cannot find anything on t'internet which may explain it.

Nope. Checked all that. Battery is in top condition. Everything else on the car functions exactly as it should.

EDIT: I'm doing 100 motorway miles three or four days a week in the car, so the battery is always charged.

I had the battery on a conditioner for a while and that didn't seem to help. I don't want to go and buy a new battery if it doesn't need one, and even more so if it doesn't fix the fault. How else will I know if the battery is affecting the SS?

Some times with "start/stop" if the bty has a large load on it the start/stop may not function, so for example cold engine lights on, radio on, fan on, a/c on, wipers on, phone plugged into 12volt......there is a large load on bty so it may not kick in.....or some thing is wrong

Turn the AC temp up a couple of clicks

If you need to buy a new battery for it you'll make the money back in, ooh maybe 450 years?

As suggested it may well be because it's warmer the car is keeping the engine running for the AC.
