Effects of replacing Nivomat shocks for standard items XC70

I'm replacing the Nivomat dampers and springs on my dads old XC70 (02 plate), however I'm slightly concerned that this will compromise the ride and handling of the car. The original dampers are in poor condition and have been on the car it's whole life (107k). But the car tows a caravan and is used as a work horse, should I fork out and get new Nivomats?

Certainly buy the genuine 'Nivomats' if your Dad is considering keeping the car and tows with it and intends keeping it.

You can get some quite good deals from Volvo dealers these days otherwise contact elkperformance.uk who should give you a better price including delivery.
