The Volvo XC60 lease thread
Discussion
A pathetic 24mpg on my 10 miles each way urban/rural b road commute (and that's using super unleaded). It's p1ss poor and i am gobsmacked that a measly 250bhp can be sooooo woefully inefficient. But based on current usage should only cost me about £500 per year extra to run than the Alltrack which only got about 36mpg on the local run. However, I have asked Andrew at icarlease to speak to ALD about a lease transfer as my mileage looks set to increase. Plus, I find the seats in Momentum spec are a bit flat for my liking so I never really feel properly comfy. At the moment I am not feeling the love

This is making my decision easier! Cancellation quite likely as I can't see this kind of mpg for what isn't something with an AMG or M badge, fitting into my life happily.
If cancelling - please let me know if interested in 'trasnferring' the lease over if allowed...Over 1.2K miles ive averaged 27.4 MPG according to the on board computer.

Yes I'll give you first refusal if I do cancel, but my main issue is finding something else to replace it...Over 1.2K miles ive averaged 27.4 MPG according to the on board computer.
Hi Guys,
Mine has been at Volvo today and been fixed! hurrah! Got a V40 to poodle about in for the day which was pretty uninspiring!!!
Apparently an air leak on the sensor!!! All fixed and no light back yet....but you never know!!
Will see what the MPG gets up to, but still anything between 26-31 at the moment. Missus got 31 on a longer drive but shes very careful! Not seen it myself and all I find is the tank draining bloody quickly! It's certainly very thirsty for a 2,0l petrol but i also guess it's a bit of a hunk of a machine weight wise!
Still happy but probably should have gone for something a bit more economical in hindsight!!!
Rich

Have you all got the D5? That fuel economy is terrible and puts me off owing one for sure
Our 2.0 diesel Tiguan (manual, FWD) has averaged 45mpg in the last 2000 miles, mostly town driving
No - I have the T5 2.0l petrol which I believe is the same as most on this thread...Our 2.0 diesel Tiguan (manual, FWD) has averaged 45mpg in the last 2000 miles, mostly town driving

I’m averaging 27mpg as the wife has been using it for her 5 mile commute. I anticipated it being low however I had hoped to hit low 30s.
Generally we don’t drive it quickly either.
Still massively enjoying the car, Crystal white looks amazing in the sun and the cabin is a nice place to be.
Certainly made the right choice upgrading to the R Design.

25 mpg mainly around town driving, comparable to any of the hot hatches I have owned in the past which is a little disappointing. So guess I have traded in performance and handling for luxury, comfort and space which I am at peace with for the next 23 months. Mrs Monkey even mentioned how she has noticed considerable more body roll than the Golf GTI (only car she has driven) which this replaced, but again this was to be expected.
Found the seats in momentum spec comfortable but not supportive find myself sliding about a bit if taking a corner swiftly. Other than that lovely car and at the price most of us paid cant complain.

Had my XC60 D4 Inscription Auto since beginning March and covered 5,000 Miles
MPG from new at 37.5 mpg
Initially tested out a T5 , didnt really think it was quick and on the demo car (managers car) it was only showing 22mpg
I strongly recommend the XC60 and even the lowly D4 seems to suit the car just fine.

I am not sure how any of this is a surprise, 250bhp which is similar to a hot hatch, if not more than most, performance on par (in a straight line at least) with a Golf GTI and it weighs quite a bit more. I got around 30mpg in the mk7.5 GTI I had and we get 28 in the XC60, I was hoping for more but when you look at it it’s pretty much on par with other 2.0 petrol turbo cars. Even as you say hatchbacks so it’s not that bad. It is a lovely place to be though and as I think we have all come to the conclusion that for the money there is not much that can touch it.
