Hi all,

How is everyone finding their car?

I am just in process of putting an order in for a T5 R design in bursting blue. Are there any optional extras that you guys have which you couldn't live without or any you wish you'd specc'd? I'm unsure whether to add panoramic and android auto but my 'deal / sensible' head is telling me not to be stupid.

Also what's the performance like in the T5? I'm not expecting it to be anything special (I have a Cupra 300 too) but would still like a bit of ooomphh. There was only a D4 to test locally.

Cheers!

I’ve had my R Design for a few months and I’m surprised how much I like it.

Option wise, I wish I added front park and rear camera. Panoramic roof would be nice as the cabin is quite dark in the R Design, especially with the windows tinted.

If I was considering buying one outright, I’d want the 360 camera and pano roof. I could live without car play and android auto, apparently it only uses a percentage of the screen anyway.

It has a surprising turn of pace the only downside is that the economy suffers. A friend has a new Golf GTI and has was surprised just how quick the XC is off the line. Gearbox seems good, I tend to waft around really so the size and comfort suits me perfectly.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah the pano roof for me was a big consideration but I do really like the dark interior. I have ended up going without any options (except bursting blue paint) now as the pano roof and android auto was quite a bit per month extra and didn't justify it for me.

I used to own a GTi and that was very much a capable car. The GTi was the MK5 so quite inferior to the newer model but its good to know that a new GTi owner is suprised with the XC60 pace!

Just had my order confirmation so now its just the wait!

The Santander lease deals on the XC60 are currently one of the hottest lease deals going. Link below. Just had my order confirmation for the XC60 R Design!

For the second time my satnav has gone haywire ... also means it’s not picking up the correct sppeed limits. The usb charger has stopped working as well...

Been like this for 1 week now.

Cars booked in under warranty at the dealers in a couple of weeks time..

How long have you had the car? Are these common faults? Seems like such simple things to get wrong with a premium-ish car.

Just about to order XC60 T5 R-Design from Santander. Just need to decide colour as Metallic is FOC. Currently thinking either black or grey. Apparently delivery Feb/Mar 2019.

Not the best of experiences at the main dealer on the east side of London....

Booked car in under warranty for:

- fixing Sat Nav not finding position- Has happened 3 times so far with the it taking anyway from 3 days to 10 days to find a position. Currently its finding its position but still wanted it looked at.

- USB not working at all, 12v socket not working

Was booked in 3 weeks ago and was told it would be booked for 2 days but a day before the appointment they called and said sorry cant bring in today but bring it in following day. Took the day of work and dropped car and had a courtesy car. End of the day was told car was ready and went to pick up.

Said they have reset and updated the sensus and tested it and everything is good.. asked if they had looked at the USB and they ummed and arred yes -we have replaced a fuse and sockets working fine..

As going to leave plugged my phone in and not working - asked the service guy and they said technician said they checked it earlier and was working...Now they need to to take the car again for another 2 days to see what wrong.

Clearly they didn't check it and now I'm dubious if they even updated the system. All our previous settings are still in the sensus - When i have reset the system before i have lost all previous profiles etc. Maybe they have a way of updating without losing details but kind of lost a little confidence in them...

So, just six months in and I'm already at 5,500 miles. A bit of an under-mileage calculation error but had already factored in paying for extra miles. It's still cheap - right? Anyhow, as I have done before with VWFS, asked ALD to requote the mileage - this time based on 20,000 miles overall. I was expecting them to come back with a calculation simply based on the excess miles x £0.112 extra mileage charge + admin fee.

How wrong can you be.....eek

At least they had the courtesy to advise this in their letter:

Further to your recent enquiry please find attached your reschedule quotation as requested. Please note, this quote is not cost effective and is therefore not beneficial for you to accept.

When we create your original contract quote we estimate the vehicles value at the end of your full term. As part of processing your reschedule quote, we automatically check the current Residual Value and often due to fluctuations in the used car market, your car may then be worth less than it was previously.

Whilst a reduction of mileage to the vehicle or increased term may favourably impact its value, the net effect can be that the car is now still worth less than under the original contract. This increase is consequently factored into the revised quote causing the new rental to be more.
We would like to advise you to not accept this quote as it will be more cost effective for you to pay any Late Hire and/or excess mileage charges after the end of your current contract term.

Needless to say, I'll just keep putting away an extra £60 or so each month - wow!!

Hi Chaps, I've had an XC60 T5 AWD for just a few weeks now and I'm currently on an average of 26 mpg, is that about normal? Also, I've got an irritating rattle from somewhere up front. Strangely from the driver's side it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side dashboard yet from the passenger side it's coming from driver's side front dash, odd! confused Oh and the foot wiggle operated tailgate opener seems completely random if it decides to work or not. hehe

Getting the same - approx 26mpg - mainly drive it comfort mode ..

Regarding the rattle i have exactly the same thing where depending where you sit it sounds like it’s coming from the opposite side . For us we figured out it’s the plastic housing directly behind the rear view mirror..( not the rear cover of the rear view mirror ) but the larger concave plastic that’s then attached to the front windscreen ... to fix it I press firmly on the housing for 5 secs or so and the sound goes away .. comes back now and then but then just firmly apply pressure again...

Check if that’s where the noise is coming from..

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow morning... smile

Yes thanks, that's fixed it...

Is anyone else having difficulty updating apps? I logged into Spotify a few days ago and couldn’t control my music via Sensus as it needed an update.

I’ve conntected the system to my iPhone hotspot yet it won’t update any apps, stating ‘Spotify could not be installed, an error report has been sent’

Any ideas?

Has anyone got the car without Apple Carplay? Mine is coming in Nov without and curious what functions (if any) from my phone I'll be able to use. Assume charge is just through the USB and same for podcasts?
