Reading this thread I am amazed that some lease for 5k miles/year!!
A taxi would be cheaper!
For a first post that's a good one. Contribute nothing but criticise others. Historically people would introduce themselves, say what cars they own and what their interest is and join the conversations. Pistonheads has changed. A taxi would be cheaper!
It was not a criticism, I am genuinely surprised that anyone would pay £200+ to drive some 420miles/month not including insurance etc.as it makes no economic sense.
And it is not a first post, just a name change and I was hoping to get some useful information on leasing an XC60, not engage in a conversation on what car I own and how many extras I have managed to cram in.

It is a good point, no one is buying this as a sunday fun car so why would you spend this much on a family wagon to drive it so few miles. Is anyone nearing the return of their XC60 from 2 years ago? Our D4 R Design is going back in a couple of weeks. It's 4k over mileage allowance and has a deep scratch on the bumper caused by some idiot who couldn't park in the office car park (no details left or cctv to find the culprit).
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck in extending or even buying? We are really happy with the car and I'd happily keep it another year on lease or perhaps buy it at the right price. So far the lease company have said extending is not an option.
By the way, the deal I got in Jan 2017 was £300pm on a 9+23, 16k total allowance. D4 R-design with metallic paint. Considerably better than anything currently available unless I'm missing the deals.

Loved mine but ALD gave no option to buy and could only extend for 3 months at most. It’s now on its way to Arnold Clark as they’ve bought it rather than it going to auction.
In a C5 Aircross now which is nice, but I’ll miss the big guy.
By the way, anyone with ALD the whole return experience was pretty easy in the end, well explained etc and I had no charges. The BCA guy who collected said there are different levels of inspection they do for finance providers, and this one was one of the more lenient so it was done in 15-20 without any real picking up of light scratches. All in all happy and look forward to being screwed over by PSA in a couple of years time...

Mine goes back in May as I delayed delivery by a couple of months, but also realising I'll struggle to get as good a deal when I come to renew.Just wondering if anyone has had any luck in extending or even buying? Have loved the XC60 but tbh the boot isn't really big enough for family camping trips, and so I'm looking for something bigger next time. XC90s are still all the money, and so it's probably going to be something like a Superb Estate next time.
Chaps - a model-and-option question rather than a leasing one, but I'd appreciate some views from users.
Any thoughts on what should be 'essential' on a new, tax-free (and LHD - I'm on the Continent) Volvo V60? I like the T5 FWD R-Design 250 PS. Petrol, auto, snazzy blue colour (Bursting Blue).
Is the R-Design the one to go for? I like a sporty version in general, but realise it's no sports car. I get cheap petrol so economy isn't really a concern.
The salesman here recommends the light and loading space packages, and I've added the heated screen, emergency tire (sic) and rear view camera. Will I regret not adding anything else?
I'm flexible on just about everything, but after 18 months on the continent I can see the benefits of being LHD, and tax-free purchases always change the dynamics.
Grateful for opinions.

The spec, options and packages vary between countries. I'm pretty sure they all have front parking sensors now but do confirm that. I'd consider the 360 camera, intellisafe surround (or whatever they call it there including blind spot detection), and heated steering wheel. The "light and loading space packages" sound like the most profitable for them, what do you get - a few light-bulbs and a net pocket? Check it's actually worth it.
