My V90 Inscription was delivered 2 weeks ago after a battle with lease company and supplying dealer who "lost" 2 S90 R-Designs that they had allegedly secured for me.

The model supplied is an MY18 so it doesn't have Volvo On Call and I'm arguing this with Lease Company and dealer as the spec they provided showed it was included. In fact I thought only MY19 cars could be registered after 1st September due to WLTP regs. Am I wrong?

Sounds ace!

I leave the house at about 5.30am so in the winter this could be handy, hopefully it can put the heated seats and steering wheel on too. biggrin
Not sure about that, I've not put to the test. The app has "parking climate" options in it, but it seems like heating only applies to cars with the optional auxiliary heater (no idea if it will run the air conditioning in summer).

From what I've read, I think you have to remote start the car and run it to warm things up on a frosty morning, although it doesn't run the heaters at full. Need to experiment with it.
I was toying with getting the winter pack (particularly fancied the heated steering wheel as I have a bit of Reynauds in my hands so really feel the cold). But couldnt justify covering the full £525 for just 2 years, especially as I have to have Android Auto so already spending £300 on that.

Then I discovered this and sounds like it makes the Winter Pack less essential. This should hopefully clear all the windows and warm the whole car, not just the windscreen so thumbup

I'd just assumed remote start was still unavailable in the UK for legal reasons as was the case in the past. Result. Still want the heated steering wheel really though....

As I understand it, you are fine to leave a running vehicle unattended as long as it's on private land, ie: your driveway.

Indeed. Which is why I didn't understand it not being available in the UK previously, when it was available in other markets: our 2014 family XC60 doesn't have it but it would have been available then if I lived in, say Sweden.

Any idea on the usual ins and outs of avoiding the expensive 2nd service on a 24 month lease? £495 on the T4 at my nearest dealer!

Have heard folk mention handing the car back a touch early but not sure of the details.

And/or get the first service done a little bit late so the 2nd service light should come on after you've given it back.......

It will be cheaper to hand it back a month early and pay 55% of the final rental (assuming you are not paying £900 a month!). However I am not sure if anyone has ever been penalised for a late first service?

However I would imagine that a late (or missed) service would invalidate the warranty, which could be hefty to be penalised for in a car with a years warranty left when it goes back? Safest bet would be just hand it back a month early and pay the 55%, I'm sure a penalty for this will be more than £160 odd quid.

Hi all, sometimes when I lock the car the mirrors don't fold in. The car does lock but mirrors stay open.
Then when I unlock and lock again they fold in fine.

Only reason this is annoying me is because I usually look back and know the car is locked if I see the mirrors folded, and am rest assured when checking on the car on random occasions.

It only happens occasionally and have checked if anything is blocking the doors from closing firmly but everything is as it should be.

Anyone else had this happen? Or know what it could be?

Same here! Happens say 4/5 times a month on average. Kind of annoying as I don't think car is locked when I look out sometimes! I just unlock and lock again and it's fine. Haven't really been bothered to get it looked at as it's nothing too major.

^^^^^ thank you, not immediately obvious in the gloom and an electronic owners manual just isnt the same, speaking of which I *think* I have configured front and rear parking sensors to come on automatically at low speed through the touchscreen although an old fashioned button like my last car would be less nerve racking.

Who knew Volvos could be so techie??

Cheers

Havent had much chance to drive it but have taken the opportunity to get it connected

It stubbornly refuses to talk to the house wifi but connects to the hotspot on my phone easily enough
The downside of this is the hassle, admittedly not huge, of configuring the phone each time I jump in and so I have just fitted my Three 200MB data SIM to primarily use for RTTI on the onboard nav, Ive yet to see how good this actually is compared to Waze but you never know - that and theres no obvious place to rest a phone unlike my old BMW where the Pronav screen was an excellent stand smile

The car streams Spotify from my phone easily enough but does take a few minutes to get going at the start of each journey
I have less functionality than the F31 (sorry) which let me select playlists, on the Volvo it plays whatever you have lined up and although you get nice album art control is limited to skipping tracks only. It often needs me to press play on the phone too which the BMW never did

Im aware that there is a download for Spotify in Sensus but I'll probably resist this on the grounds that whilst it would be great to have full Spotify on the dash I havent worked out how to guarantee it hoovers my very generous data allowance from the phone hotspot rather than quickly guzzling my 200MB from the onboard SIM

Cheers

Have a look and see when its actually due

My car says it needs its 1st service at exactly 11 months of ownership which is a little cheeky to say the least
Lucky its an 18 month term

Anyone else find the inbuilt Spotify App absolutely useless?

It hangs on searching loads, and you don't seem to be able to navigate backwards and forwards by album- for example, search for a song, view what's playing now, and there's no link to take you to the album for the song.

Compared to the Deezer with BMW, it's st.

These are all the reasons I've begrudgingly paid £300 for Android Auto on my ordered S90. I've got it on current car and could never go back to manufacturer ICE....

Get in, plug phone in so it charges, hide it in the centre console.

Decent Google Nav, Google Play Music which is where all my music is anyway, everything can be reasonably reliably voice controlled, texts and WhatsApps read out, podcast apps, TuneIn, cover art, etc etc.

Volvo apparently making it the native ICE for 2020 onwards which I think is a good plan.

I know Apple types are largely less enamoured with CarPlay mind.
