If you feel you must buy a GAP policy then the best way to play off the price matching offered by some of the main players was discussed at length a while back. Cut and pasted one of the relevant bits below. A colleague of mine used a similar approach and paid £58 in 2017 for GAP only no excess. I told him not to bother but he perhaps rightly thought that for £58 he would get it.

If you feel you must then you may as well get it at the best price.

Snipped from anothers posting some time back.........

I first got a quote with GAP123, - £129 for £10k cover over the 2 years with the deposit cover (£35)
I then got a quote with ALA for the same (without the deposit cover) - £115. £101.20 with the Piston12 code.
I then got a quote with Autoebid (run by Motorpocket) - The same cover - £10k 2 years came to £63.48.
I then got ALA over their livechat - quite hard to find, but I did, to pricematch the Motorpocket quote. This brought it down to £53.18 (as they price match, then reduce by 20%).
I then went back to GAP123 (as I really wanted the deposit cover). GAP123 on their website state they don't need to offer codes, as they are normally the cheapest.
I emailed them stating a rare case had occurred (the wording on their website referencing cheaper prices). I asked them to price match the £53.18.
They asked for evidence, of which I had emailed over to me by ALA.
GAP123 Price matched at £53. They also offered me an added service of deposit protection (I was going to ask if they can tack it onto the £53) - I thought it would then be a non-price-match-able price, as it's different services.
Anyway. GAP123 offered the £10k cover over 2 years, with the deposit protection for a total of £78.
Cheers for the info but honestly could not be arsed with all that. Plus autoebid just redirects to ALA now. And Gap123 just redirects to some other providers I've never heard of and who weren't radically cheaper.

Plus my customer service experience with ALA has been good - I once tried to buy something I didn't need and rather than take my money they pointed out that I was an idiot smile

I did find a better ALA code though: 25% off with MSE25 which brought mine down to £100

Cars just arrived at the dealer , awaiting a delivery date. Current dilemma, my lease car is to be collected on the 3rd but I need the Volvo asap for a trip. Keep both or wait for the collection on the 3rd.

Insurance will be the killer

Volvo gave me 7 days free when I took delivery last year, but that still leaves you a few days short

I have to get a new policy anyway, my current insurance are charging me stupid money to change over so will have to get a brand new policy. Was thinking of just keeping 2 policies running and then cancel the other lease one in a few days, i pay monthly anyway.

Following on from my earlier post, the music files on my USB stick appear to be playing in alphabetical order. I thought I might have to rename the tracks, but after checking on my computer, all the tracks already include the track number (and disc number if multi-disc) in the name of the file. Therefore it must be sorting by the title from the id tag. I'm not sure how to get around that! Anyone got any ideas?

Does it really matter what order the tracks play in??
There is a 'shuffle' option in the side menu if alphabetical doesn't work for you...

Do you listen to Pink Floyd albums on shuffle?

Just had a call from the dealer (which I’ve come to dread over the past couple of months!) - Car is arriving on Friday and available for collection from Saturday.

I’m away at the weekend but have booked in collection for Monday afternoon.

Ditto, just had leasehub tell me my S90 has arrived and we have arranged for me to take delivery on the 4th June. Only a 6mth wait, I am unsure how/why I was so patient, the amazing spec and cheap price probably had something to do with it!!

Just need to arrange for the Golf GTi DSG to be collected (which was another stonking deal from late 2016)

Edit: Just checked, I ordered in early October 18, so an 8mth wait!!!

Great news! Wish mine had only been 6 months, haha.

The spec of the car and it’s price haven’t been beaten in the whole time I’ve spent (practically every day since placing the order in October as well as the month preceding!) trawling this forum and the leading sites for other deals.

The Arteon would’ve come close but they still haven’t materialised (and night only be delivered in November/December, maybe even January 2020!) so I’m glad I didn’t go for that one. Apart from the decent A Class deals of recent, nothing else even half-turned my head.

I’ve arranged to take delivery of my v90 today. On 16th of July, that’s my choice though it’s been at the dealers for ages already.

Nice to see everyone's cars are starting to arrive or have arrived at the dealers.

I asked the following on the Best Lease thread but it might get lost/ignored as it isn't to do with any deals. Hoping someone can help with a subject that crops up often but I haven't seen an answer to my specific question:

Does the service interval kick in as soon as you hit every 10K Miles on the car's computer, or is it just done by days elapsing?

So, say I went past 10K but there was 50 days remaining, would it tell me I needed a service or just keep counting down the days?

If it is the latter, would I be in trouble with the garage (I’m direct with a main dealer) for not getting bit serviced at the 10K point?

Just trying to weight up the pros and cons of trying to avoid the second service (as I’m on 24 month contract) or, if I definitely need to do it because of my mileage, should I try and get them to sell me the £399 three year service plan?

Mine has arrived today, collecting on Saturday i asked for the 399 service plan and it was no issue (car is PCH with Santander) I was prepared to pay on collection for the plan but without asking they just spread it evenly over my lease period (36m). So Im looking forward to Saturday

Great news! Also good about the service pack - I’ll want to pay for it up-front rather than spread it across the payments, hopefully won’t be an issue. As my mileage will be 12 - 15K a year, it looks like the 2nd service will be unavoidable.

They would not let me purchase it at 399 only option was to add to lease costs. £399 price if private purchase only (thats what they told me) I didn't push it I wasn't that fussed. Im 12k pa for 3 years so service pack was a bargain.
