Seems to be some good pcp deals on the V90 on HUKD. The D4 is marginally more lovely cars and after my T5 CC would have to have a drive of the D4 the engine is the biggest draw back to longer term ownership for me.
We’ve enjoyed our D4 so far. It’s a luxurious wafter and if you just kick back and relax knowing that from the start it’s a nice place to be.Camelot1971 said:
My as new V90 CC T5 has gone back to Santander today. Was a very painless experience - apparently it will be in Wakefield (from Essex) tomorrow to go through the auction.
I was surprised at the depreciation if I had purchased. List price was in the mid £40s but WBAC offered £24.5k for a 15 month old car with less than 8000 miles. Even if I had paid £35k for it, that's a huge drop. In the end, it's cost less than £5k so that's not so bad.
I wouldn't get one again, if I am honest. It rode nicely, and the interior was nice, but the engine and gearbox were poor. Glad I got to experience owning one for a bit though.
My Inscription has been in Wakefield for about 6 weeks and going nowhere I was surprised at the depreciation if I had purchased. Out of interest I just put it through wbac and got 19,500, think best deal I found on carwow before taking the (no brainer) lease was 33k so pretty savage in 18 months. There must be some very angry punters out there.....

Picked "my" V90 T4 up last Wednesday.
As yet not a single penny has left my account. When do they usually take the deposit?
If that's Santander, they took an age to take my first payment (zero deposit). All works out in the end, just annoying when you expect to see the money gone and it just sits in your account taunting you! As yet not a single penny has left my account. When do they usually take the deposit?

My V90 CC went back at the beginning of April and I have yet to see it for sale. When I chased Santander about taking the final payment (which they still haven't done) they said it would be in storage. I haven't paid enough attention to know whether auctions are running now, but the collection chap was not from BCA because it was a rearranged collection just after lockdown, so it could still be with the third party. It shows as untaxed now, anyway.
I guess they will store them safely and release them over time to not saturate the market. I don't think outside of their amazing offer, the V90 CC is particularly desirable. Camelot1971 said:

Well my deposit payment is yet to be taken the monthly payment is due to leave around 24th of each month.I would have expected to pay the deposit before being given the car but no one asked for anything.
Just had my 1t service at main dealer, £252, picked the car up at 5.20 last night and they closed at 5.30, when I was on the way home (after they had closed so couldn't call) saw adblue was low on the gauge.
wouldn't this service include a top up of adblue, or should that be seen as a consumable like petrol?

hi guys, some advice needed please
i have a v90 which was suppose to go back end of june, (2 years pch).
However, extended for 3 months till sept, so now going back in sept, 2 year service is due, and has flagged up on vehicle for some time now, my local volvo dealers service dept is shut, next nearest one is a 65 miles round trip, which isnt convenient.
Read above that one could get it serviced by third party if they use OEM parts, this will be cheaper and far more convenient, wont get in no trouble doing so right?
Best to talk to Santander?
Would love to know what others have done.
edit : just read this in my contract...
a fee of £100 plus VAT for a failure to service the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturers recommended
service intervals at a franchised dealer in clause 6.3
Clause 6.3
The vehicle must be serviced in accordance with the
manufacturers recommended service intervals, using
genuine parts, at a franchised dealer. If you do not meet
this obligation, you may be liable to pay a fee of £100 plus
VAT for each service interval which was not undertaken by
a franchised dealer.

Volvo extended the service schedule from 12 to 15 months during the lockdown. Mine is going back next month and the service was due end of may. It was Volvo finance who told me about the extension.i have a v90 which was suppose to go back end of june, (2 years pch).

I also asked about the charge for not getting a service if it is due and they said £100. I have it in writing too that it is only £100 and not the cost of the service plus £100. I also found the wear and tear guide with what is acceptable and what isnt and I could not see anywhere on it that mentions Alloy wheels. It mentions tyres but nothing about wheels.

Just been quoted £270 at a Volve dealer for the one year service on my V90 CC (leased through Santander thanks to the superb deal posted on here early last year).wouldn't this service include a top up of adblue, or should that be seen as a consumable like petrol?
£270 sounds a bit steep to me, and with previous comments suggesting a £100 'penalty' for not getting the car serviced I'm tempted to... not get the car serviced. It goes back in December after 18 months, so if I get a bill for £100 at that point, having avoided an extortionate £270 now, then I'll take that.

Possibly controversial?
Is 270 *really that* extortionate? Just paid 200 for first annual service on a Citroen. My FL2 is also not far off that for the annual service, though the fluids specified can be a bit pricey, and that's at an independent with an hourly rate half that of a JLR workshop, and before any work needed for ministry test and any others jobs need doing. Yes on the one hand it seems expensive for doing a lot of things that a responsible keeper does on a regular basis, on the other hand their technical facilities and training have to be paid for. Market pricing I'd suggest.
Rather surprised at the number of people doing at what is in my eyes basically not looking after a vehicle properly in order to save £100 or so. Then maybe it's me that's out of step with cheapskate leasing strategy.

If you want to avoid the service, that's your choice, but if there is anything even remotely wrong with the car, and you didn't service it, you could be in a for a world of pain. For example, what if there was a small oil leak that wasn't obvious unless the car was inspected properly? That leak turns into a big one and by the time you realise, it's too late.
I paid £269 for my service, and I don't think that was outrageous. I always treat lease cars as if they were my own though.

Some interesting points, all of which I largely agree with. I'm probably just a bit miffed at having to fork out what amounts to an additional monthly payment, having previously legitimately 'gotten away with' not having to service my previous lease car at all (SEAT Ateca on a two year lease, with the first service not being due until the two year old mark, so it wasn't overdue when I handed it back at the end of two years). Surely if a Seat Ateca is sufficiently technologically advanced to survive the first two years of its life without the need for inspection then a high-end Volvo must be also. And these cars are pretty good at letting you know when something is wrong and needs attention (e.g. low tyre pressure warning), which largely answers the point about the possibility of something being wrong with the car that I wasn't aware of.
The bottom line is I'm being a cheapskate. I just begrudge handing over a not insignificant amount of cash for a service that 'probably' isn't necessary, not at this point in time anyway.
But I appreciate all of your comments. I'll mull it over.

I recently paid ~£270 for my v90 cc t5 service. I wish I had thought to mention the steering wheel track skip and select buttons pretty much never work. I'm not taking it back though. I managed to get a 3/12 extension, so now have it until Feb 21. As much as I like it I want to try something else when i give it back and whatever it is I hope it has pilot assist.

Bugger - I wish I had that issue - I keep hitting next track every time I park or come out of a T-junction.Swap wheels?
