Scrolling through those deals above, and the V90 equivalent I noticed that there are quite a few vehicles with spec *** Plus, ie Momentum Plus, R Design Plus etc.

So have been looking through my spec and price lists wondering what the Plus added to the specification. The only spec sheets I can find are ones Volvo created in Nov 2019, though were still available for download up to May 2020 when they were replaced by MY2021 sheets and no Plus.

Think it's reasonable to suggest these vehicles listed must be end of 2020MY run out vehicles. Maybe even pre reg and been sitting around for some time? Deals are still better than anything else around though.

I think plus usually added tinted windows, window shades, winterpack heated bits, active headlights, bigger wheels and keyless entry, front seat cushion extensions

Had the old 2018/19 spec from my V90

From the spec sheet from Nov 19, the Momentum Plus was the base spec, earlier in the year there had been a Momentum and then a Plus iirc, but don't have the sheet for that.

These are the specs from my sheet if anyone interested. There can be a bit of duplication of lines as too lazy to crop screen grabs properly

I've ordered one via Volvo directly and yes they are MY20 and in stock but not pre-registered (at least mine certainly isn't).

Thanks for that, with Volvo directly, as in Volvo car leasing or a dealer fleet dept?

Just wondering as in my daily has just started making graunching noises, might be as simple as a wheel bearling, so a front hub needed, quite a quick and inexpensive fix. Might be something in the 4wd system though. frown

Through Volvo Car Leasing but the process is being managed through my local dealer.

I noticed you can pick up a nearly new S90 for not much over £20k. I’m in the market for a 5 series / e class / 7 series / s class and looked at Volvo as a left field choice. How are they?

Quality wise they're good, seats are very comfortable, the infotainment is a bit clunky, but the refinement is good.

A lot of people complain about the gearbox being slow-witted. I never experienced that on my V90. I believe there's a software update that addresses this. It's never going to drive as well as the Germans, but it's a good bargain barge. Economy is poor on the petrol engines.

Pretty much nails it

Mine was an Inscription and just lovely inside, a really great place to munch miles or waft around town

Fuel consumption was rubbish though but offset by it being cheap although major motorway trips a pain as the tanks capacity is modest. We regularly do a 360 mile return trip to see family and it's almost impossible to avoid an expensive top up on the way home whereas my previous 335d did it with fuel to spare.

But I'd have had another in a heartbeat if the price was right.

The 27 month ownership v90r design D5 has left us, BCA came to collect, really nice guy, no charges, very happy.

Dont think I will get a volvo again, horrible mpg, dull infotainment and I need a bit of german in my life next.

The D5 was a great engine though!

What was the mpg? I’m looking at a s60 T5 and apparently the engine provides better mpg

At 8K miles it averages around 29mpg.

If you do short journeys like local shops and school drop off you might get 19

I have had my S90 D4R for well over 2 years now and have averaged 47.6 from new over 30000 miles. The best overall average mileage I have ever had in a good looking comfortable barge!

Mine is the T4 S90 R Design, I'm on 16,000 miles after 18 months and my overall average is 38mpg.

I do 70% - 80% motorway drives so I can see why I seem to be getting a decent return but I am very pleased with that considering the figures I often see on here. The other 20 - 30% is a mix of local, short drives, mainly on non-A roads.
