New front boots here. 245 45 18 but a decent choice available. Paying for it myself this time as I have previously included maintenance so ended up with some Goodyear f1asymmetric 3s for £250 the pair fitted. Surprisingly kwik fit mobile cheaper than the usual
Local suspects, once I’d used the free mobile fitting code.
Initial thoughts on the tyres are it still feels like a wallowy barge that understeers.
They must be the right tyres then. But what a comfortable lazy barge to roll around in though.
I'm not going to wax lyrical about the initial bite under heavy braking and second phase mid corner responsiveness to changing your line to clip the apex biggrin
They seem quiet enough and were cheap whilst avoiding any issues Santander might have about what they deem to be good enough branded tyres on return for an extra 20 quid over the Chinese Land Squeal Divanbed Hardrocks or equivalent.

Mines being serviced today outside Volvo, getting them to rotate fronts and rears to save a purchase.

I'm on 8.5K and can go up to 14k by Mid Feb 21, but am not likely to get over 10k at this rate. If I extend will Santander take lower mileage into account and offer lower monthlies? Even if I don't extend is it worth contacting them? They do seem to be very reasonable given what others have posted.

So they contacted me with my extended lease ( currently 24 mths plus an extra 6 mths) due to expire mid December. I had already contacted Volvo CFS a few weeks ago to confirm collection by BCA. Then the call from Santander came through yesterday morning offering the additional 6 months. So currently I am aiming to give the car back just prior to the 3rd year service and MOT. One thing I do need to check and haven't yet is the state of the tyres. They ought to be excellent with loads of tread as I am currently on 15k miles and drive like a monk !
Thanks for your reply. Think I need to get something else arranged if it is left until about a month before expiry.

I had a check at 12K miles and I have tonnes of tread left too - I think the barge makes you drive like a monk!!

Warning : Anecdotal Evidence follows.

The fronts on my T4 ( Michelin Premacy 3) lasted 20K. Mostly motorway crusing.
Rears still have 4-5mm left and I carry about 100kg round in my boot all the time(one pimp's body or 2 hookers, depends on the job) so swapping over at 15k should just even out the wear nicely.

Any ideas why the 'Service Due Soon' would come up on the app for my S90. The car was new around the end of March this year so another 4 months to go until the first service... mileage is low

Has anyone who got the santander 18 month v90 cc t5 deal had an offer to extend? Before covid I was told around £10 per day for up to a month. I've had 3 free months. If no decent deals present and I can't extend I'm going to have to buy something.
Yep, I'm on this deal. I didn't take the Covid extension and a couple week ago I informed them I was wanting it collected. They asked if I'd be interested in the 6 month extension on the same monthlies (£272) which I declined.

I had something similar on mine. I think the days counter works from build date initially and sometimes is not re-set by the dealer to delivery date. I was told to ignore it and that the anniversary of the delivery date is when it is due a service.

Just got the 6/12 informal extension call from Santander. Have to give 28 days notice which is fine. Will need 2nd service but hopefully not tyres as only on 8.5K after 18 months. Just trying to get option costs knocked off the extension and see if they will also adjust price due to lower mileage.

EDIT: No reduction in cost or discount for the mileage. Can't argue though as had 3/12 free but was worth asking.

It should be 12 months or 16000/18000 miles ( can't remember which without looking)
I had the same thing in the middle of the first lockdown.
Apparently the supplying dealer definitely reset the service counter on the PDI and it needed to go in for a service, despite not being condition based servicing and only being 8 months in to my tenure.
I got it done at another Volvo service centre later on who were great, did the SW update and recall as well and didn't even try to flog me tyres even though they were down to 3mm on the front.
And no. I did not go back to the other dealer and do burnouts giving the V sign out of the window biggrin

Has anyone else extended their lease?

Santander are all too happy to promote a 6 month extension. As tempting as it is for the winter months, having to fork out for the extortionate second service and 2 tyres shoots it down PDQ. Just does not make financial sense.

Ours runs until June next year (3 month extension) and I think it will depend on the deals around at the time if we do extend for another 6 months or not. Pretty happy with the car (V90 CC T5) so see what happens.

Exactly the situation I'm in. Say it was about £550 - £650 for two new tyres and the second service after haggling (could be touching £700!) then it would even out as an extra circa £100 a month on top of my £265. It doesn't make any sense (plus I'll be about 3,000 miles over my miles come the end of my 24 months).

But...I'm really happy with the car and there's naff all around at the moment in terms of any deals, let alone similar. Annoying!

Phone call from the wife and came home to this. She parked outside M&S and popped in for 5 minutes. When she came out a guy was leaving a note as he had seen the Volvo XC60/90 parked next to her scrape our leased V90 and drive off. She has called the Police ( not interested one bit who referred her to our insurance) even though a witness and CCTV and reg VE68 UND. Now the quandary is do I tell insurance and face the inevitable premium hikes even though 100% not our fault or pay for repair. I have cut it with a DA but no paint in several places and damage to lower spoiler and scrape on alloy spoke. She has £450 excess. Any thoughts?

Use askmid to get their insurance details. Either use your insurer or get theirs to sort repairs. Either way you shouldn't have to pay your excess, our be penalised next year.

No the wife took the piece of paper off the witness and forgot to ask. Rightly or wrongly she parked next to the silver Volvo as it was well parked and had been reverse parked. It was a nice motor and not some POS that would open its door on our car....so she thought. I think she was in shock when she saw it and didn’t get witness details. There is CCTV though. What’s askmid?

Think it will be insured as VE68UND is a local car and clearly quite new. We’re with Direct Line so they do cover for uninsured. Does anyone subscribe to HPI or something to confirm the reg number?
