Was pondering what the V90s are ACTUALLY worth - rather than their list price new.

If you know anything about leasing, you'll know that either a leasing company gets a mahoosive discount for volume (but with a minimum hold period before they can sell) OR the manufacturer themselves are pushing the leasing for the same reason- ie to generate volume to keep the factor efficient.

The retail list of my V90 when I took delivery was £52k

I leased it for 21months at £344/month (with 3 "free" months) and handed the car back at 20k miles.

Its now for sale here: https://www.volvocarslondon.co.uk/used-cars/129153...
at £26,990.

Unless I am way off I suspect they'll have £4k in that chassis which suggests it went for £22k ish.

santander had £7k in leasing income, which means they have had a total of £29k.

i suspect this makes the underlying "value" of the car more like 35k rather than 50k- which going by the "material" quality of the car I would probably agree with!

From memory the V60 we have now (leased through Volvo's own scheme underwritten by Santander) listed at late £30ks or early £40k and had about £15k off on the invoice.

Starting to look for a replacement as this goes back in December, and it's a bit of an understatement to say there's not much about.
Who is it with? I've got the same car with Arval and due back at the end of March. They have a default setting in the policy which says I can extend it at a certain price, which is 10% more than current - so would be about £300 per month. I'd have to factor in getting the second service and depending on how long I do keep it for, tyres; though it's only done 7k miles so far, expect 14k by March.
Volvo Car Finance / Santander.

In other news, I got to 35 thousand odd miles and the fuel consumption that shows on the driver performance was set to never renew, but it's just gone to 150mpg, so something has gone round the clock and the calculations are now fubar.
It showed 37.5 mpg for the life of the car before it went squiffy.
I've reset it now and hoping to keep it above 40mpg because I'm tight biggrin

That’s good going! My t4 is showing 33mpg after 18k. Only ever get near 40 on a long careful run.

Have you enquired about an extension?

I suppose December is some time off!
I’m Santander/Volvo ending July - said they’d only do 28 days at the prorata monthly rate. I’d keep it longer if I could.

"Mine" a 2020 V90 T4 had £20K off the invoice. A smidge over £40K new so a 50% discount.

I asked and had the same - 28 days (later biggrin) - I need it because the incoming Cupra Ateca is scheduled for end of June but they don't have a confirmed date yet - my V90 CC is due back 17th June so might need to use the full 28 days.

"Mine" was a 2019 S90 T4 R Design and I put just under 24K on the clock. Original list price was just under £40K and, going by what's on AutoTrader at the moment, I reckon it'll go on for a little over £20K.

I think that's a serious bargain for how much car you're getting. I do appreciate it wasn't the most frugal if you weren't doing long runs and it isn't the most engaging car, but the comfort, sound and tech were a real level above others in class.

I've leased again but will seriously consider getting a finance deal on a previous lease in the future if similar bargains are available.

Received an invoice through the post on Saturday for the excess mileage and an invoice for all three items of damage Manheim flagged.

Will give them a ring at lunchtime to dispute the charges (and happily pay the excess mileage), hopefully will end up paying them nothing or just for the mark on the rear (so around £80)...

Hi All,

I'm after opinions on some sidewall damage to the front wheels of the V90 CC.

Do I need to replace it and if so do I need to replace both front tyres (damage is only on 1)?
Also - anyone know how to get that black cr*p off the rim?

I'd say yes, purely on a safety aspect, and unless you can get one with similar tread depth I'd replace both together.

Use a fall out remover to clean the wheels, it will remove all the crap.

Does anyone know which wear and tear guide Santander use while I wait for them to send it through?

I need to know if I need to match tyre brands and also if I can fit budget tyres if brand new.

This is a link to a full set of guidelines which is incensed through Alphabet but should be exactly the same standards a vehicle should be appraised to.
