Hope you get one. Just fyi the dealer told me they are out of 20" wheels so worth checking.

Has anyone driven petrol?
Wouldn't want 20 inch wheels. Learnt from my mistake on a Porsche Cayman; ruins the ride, kerbs more easily, harder to get winter tyres.

Yes good point. My F Type has 20" wheels and rock hard. Would say the Volvo was very impressive on 20" wheels though .

Drove the XC40 T5 today. Much quieter than the diesel. Lovely drive. Take delivery of a First Edition next week for my wife.

The online configurator has been has been updated so the specs without a coalhole interior are now available. I prefer the Momentun spec, smaller wheels and the Inscription's crystal gearlever just looks like a lump of plastic and not very tactile. Only thing is its not available with the D4 engine, although the T4 might be torquey enough.

I have just spotted one on the road and they look amazing, bigger than I imagined they would look though.

Did anyone on here win the car on Launch night? I'm surprised Volvo haven't made more of it.

Annoyingly I am yet to get a test drive from our dealer . I even emailed him last weekend and nothing. Bit annoying to be honest. Although on another note, went for a spin in my MD's 90 T8 today. God thats just massive . Not sure why he needed it Polestar'd too, but with 90 miles on the clock we werent going to try it at full chat.

Ordered mine 2 weeks ago. Sales manager said 6-8 weeks but on the order form they wrote end of June.

I'm hoping they're knocking out a batch of First Editions and it'll arrive in April.

I tested a First Edition D4 yesterday and it was excellent. I've not driven a 60 or 90, so I can't compare the drive or size.
Getting some quotes on an R Design Pro and First Edition, both T5 and D4, as I'm not sold either way yet.

Just ordered at T4 AWD auto for my old man. Think we’re in for a wait.

Did you try a both T4 and D4?

I'm interested how their similar power outputs compare in reality. My ideal spec would be a D4 Momentum Pro as the Inscription trinkets don't appeal, however the Momentum isn't available in this country as a D4.

Just a D4, limited choice for test drives. So just tried it for size and comfort - it’s for my dad. He is used to an S80 and had succession of large Volvo saloons and estates (144, 145, 244, 265, 740, 760, 960) all petrol auto and wasn’t keen on diesel. Had to be T4 to get petrol auto. I think a base petrol would have been ok but wasn’t possible due to the typically limited choices available.

I thought he might want the inscription but as you point out it’s only a few interior and exterior trinkets. All main options come with Momentun Pro to which adding leather was enough.

I thanks for the reply, I think my thoughts on specification are similar, the larger diameter wheels particularly turn me off the Inscription spec. My concern is whether the wider torque rev band of the T4 can offset its 25% lower torque output.

Fortunately I'm not in a hurry to order, when I am really to commit hopefully there will be a greater range of cars to available.
