Now they have announced the prices for the v60 cross country, how long before leasing deals/prices will appear?

In my current V40 the Settings section in the car allows you to make changes to various settings and Im pretty sure you could turn off the auto stop/start here and it would be permanent - but I have a manual and dont mind it so havent turned it off. That's in addition to the button at the bottom of the bashboard.
They must of changed the setting as yes it can be turned off on the display but reverts back upon the engine being switched off/restarted.

I have found that the car suits Dynamic mode as its much more driveable and a very nice place to be, engine sounds very coarse when accelerating hard but this could just be that the engine needs running in more.

Had Nov 23rd re-confirmed by the Dealer so await that.

Do you tend to get GAP Insurance for this? Been reading other threads and the answer is not obvious.

Also as a Lease and not a purchase, will you get the Volvo 7 day free insurance to start off?

Hi guys.

I’m currently waiting on my V60 t5.

It’s being built next week so I should have it by the end of the month.

I went for onyx black in the end.

The only thing I think might let the car down is the gearbox, Apart from the lack of pedals it’s also Supposed to be a little slow to react.

Any opinions from guys who have received their cars already would be great?

The V90 came in for the same criticism at launch. I got mine last week and can't say I see it. I suspect the software has been improved in later cars. Besides, unless you're a motoring journo who likes to use a "dab of oppo" on every roundabout, I think you're unlikely to notice it even if it is still the case.

I have now done 700 miles with mine and yes there is a very slight hesitation when in comfort mode but if you put it dynamic mode it seems fine, my previous car had a dsg box and that was better.
Don't be too concerned about the gearbox its the tyre noise which is more annoying.

(Also the boot load cover is the work of the devil as im always setting off with it still in the up position)

No it's on 18 inch wheels and came fitted with Pirelli Cinturato P7, the recommended tyre pressure is 39psi which i have reduced slightly to try to lessen the noise.

I find mine the same - its not an issue at all - better than my VAG DSG that I had previously. My all time favourite is still the ZF gearbox, but this Volvo isn't too far behind. I have mine set up as dynamic using individual mode, which may be helping a little.

Seems a bit of a lottery with these Volvo tyres - same as the V90's - they are coming with different tyres all the time it seems. Mine came with Pirelli P Zero's and I find them to be an excellent tyre, for both wet and dry. Its nearly a 17ft long car though, so I'm not exactly hammering it through the twisties or anything smile

That info on the gearbox is good to know, sounds like it’s not as bad as reviews first stated.
I’d be happy if mine comes on a set of P Zeros too.

How are you all getting on with the "touchscreen only" interface?

I hated it during my test drive and it's what's put me off going with one so far.

Once you get familiar with the touchscreen it is very easy. It was a bit daunting at first but quickly becomes straightforward. I had a struggle setting up the Volvo oncall but it is now functioning perfectly. I do find the autobox a bit jerky from first to second especially when cold. Mpg only 21 at the moment but it has all been very short journeys. I thought the stop/start had ceased to function but it was just the colder weather and short trips. Lane assist was a bit unnerving until I realised what it was. I thought the steering had gone all stiff. I hope it knows when you are overtaking on the motorway.

Bugger, that's exactly what mine is on. I've got some nvh material left over from a noisy leon that I may use.

Just drove past the Volvo dealer and spotted a red one on their holding area, which lo and behold was mine.

Hopefully collecting on Thursday

Does anyone know where to fit a dashcam on these so it doesn't interfere with all the sensors and if there is a suitable power supply in the big lump that is the sesor array??

Hi all,

So I've had my V60 just over a week, and already put 1500 miles on it. Absolutely loving the car so far, it's a very comfortable place to be. The car doesn't encourage you to drive fast, but it's plenty powerful enough for regular driving. This is my first automatic car, but I've found the gearbox to be fine. It doesn't come close to the DSG box in terms of speed, but the Volvo 'box is definitely smooth, no jerkiness or stuttering.

The media/nav system is brilliant, took me an hour or so to be fully used to it. I especially like being able to send locations from my phone to the car using the 'On Call' app - especially useful as the application map is powered by Google, so you can simply search for a place, without needing to worry about postcodes, streets etc, then once you've found the place you just Send to Car, and the location will be ready for you in the nav system when you next get in the car. As standard the car has a speed limit camera, so this is displayed in the dash - a very handy feature. Speed cameras are also displayed on the dash. The stock speakers are fine, plenty of power and stayed refined at higher volumes.

The seats are brilliant, so comfortable. They are half electric, half manual, and have a fair few adjustments, including lumbar support.

Averaging 35mpg so far, which I'm quite impressed with.

Overall build quality is great, no squeaks or rattles at all.

Two things I don't like:
- Not being able to see which gear I'm in - I wish this was displayed at all times on the dash, I just want to know what the car is doing.
- Start/Stop - the car cuts in and out all the time, shame you can't modulate the function with the brake pedal.

One last issue I'm having is I can't connect the car to the internet, tried through my phone, connecting to house WiFi, through car modem but nothing is working... hopefully the dealer can sort that out.

Thanks for the info Bomster! Look forward to hearing about your excess mileage charges in 18 months time :-)

Did you take out the 7 day free insurance? Did you take out GAP insurance?

I get the feeling that pushing the little button to switch off the stop/start will became a habit pretty quickly!

Evening All

I thinking of replacing my current XC60 D5 with a V60 Cross Country, I had the opportunity to try the latest navigation system a few weeks back and come to the conclusion it is a bit of a step backward compared to the system in my current last generation XC60. So I'm assuming I must have missed something as some of the useful features of the old system seems to be absent or awkward to find. Although I think I've made a fair effort at scouring the menus, I'm hoping that I've missed where a few things are lurking.

The most obvious is the reduction in the number of route options. My current car gives 3 fast routes or 3 eco routes, the one of eco options more often better matches my navigation preferences. The new system only seems to offer 3 (fast, eco or scenic), I'm guessing this reduction is trying to simplify options.

There seems to be less traffic information. The traffic button (hidden in a slightly obscure option) only offers traffic on the selected route, not the option to view traffic on all roads. I mentioned this to a salesman the other day and they suggested zooming out the display. Is there an option to list all traffic by road? Also when there is a traffic incident I haven't noticed a indicator of it on the display.

Of course one thing I would have to get used to is the missing cylinder and the rumble it generates.

Looks good Bomster. In terms of connection through the car modem, have you put a data SIM in? There is a system SIM hidden in the car and then you can add a second one for connected services, downloading maps, streaming Spotify etc. That said, it should still be possible to connect via your phone (and as I understand it the house WiFi).

One more sleep for me!
