£270!! Seems steep! They want to change pollen filters etc... say I have too for warranty.... my Golf R for comparison first service was £160, the XC60 I have is exactly the same price as the V40.

Also it’s on a 12 month or 18k miles service plan, I’ve oonly done 8k, pity they don’t do long life or variable servicing, be warned!

They can be a bit of a rip off. Main stealer in Derby quoted my father around GBP750 for discs and pads all round on same car. He said no thanks. They had the cheek to call back the next day and ask if he'd be interested at GBP600!

That's slightly cheap going by the service price indicator tool: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/own/maintenance/servi...

My local ones are £290-300, Second service is £470!

Speaking from experience, Volvo servicing doesn't come cheap.

We just had the second service on ours £395, but otherwise a clean bill of health. I’d gripe about it, but in the two years we’ve owned it the car hasn’t had a single fault

Mine are both leased, I was surprised how expensive the services are compared to rivals, safety of them is a fair trade for service cost, but they will be going back a few weeks early to avoid the expensive second service.... thanks for letting me know.

Remember that Volvo servicing comes with a year's free breakdown cover so will account for some of the cost.

So does Ford's...but perhaps the horn on the Focus is much easier and less time-consuming to test.

I recently bought a V40 R Design Pro T3 new and paid £399 for 3 years servicing.

Sounds like I got a good deal looking at these prices.
