S60 no instruments- dash circuit board faulty

A friend has had all the instruments go on their old S60, we read up and saw a few YouTube visa indicating a fault on the circuit board behind the speedo, removed it and had a look and all the solders etc appear fine.
Has anyone else had this fault or can recommend anywhere to send it to get repaired?, not worth taking it to Volvo imo.

Have a look on the volvo owners club forum, think there is a guy on there who does repairs to those units, i think he goes under the user name of lucaz, use the search function in the s60/v70 sub section.

What’s the age?
If the dials have black surrounds, it’s a common problem and I think the most cost effective solution is replacement.
If the dials have a silver surround, it’s the newer dash and failure is rarer.
