Has anyone ever used a VIDA / DICE setup?

I want to change a few settings and apparently this is the device / software I'd need to do it - I had asked a dealer if they'll change them for me but they only said they'd run a diagnostic on it at a cost of £90!

Watching this thread! I need one. I have a OBD scanner for my vag cars that works a treat. Plugged it into the Volvo and although reads it returns no errors. I know I need the DICE VIDA and there are some on eBay but just researching until I blow £70 on it. I have the anti skid service on my xc90. I want to invest in this kit and try to do some jobs myself This error could be a number of things and I was hoping the hardware and software might help me pin point it a bit more. The traction control is off as a result which gives the Orange triangle which will be a MOT failure

Apparently the ones online are mostly Chinese clone units - the dealer did say that only garages should have genuine ones...

Not sure on how confident I'd be in doing brain surgery on my car with one of these though...

I'm up near Leeds most of the time.

What did you need to do to get it installed?

I'm very interested in getting a VIDA DICE system (Chinese clone obviously) Looking at Amazon there seems to be a rather large selection. Is there anything specific to look for? Some advertise as green board whatever that means. is that better?

Also what OS would I need. We have an old Dell running XP pro, Is that likely to work?

I bought this one
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11400.m43.l5919/7?...

£63 delivered.

Installation was a little involved, this thread helped: https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?18681...

You need a fresh Windows 7 install (you can buy a disc online for around £10)

Perfect I'll give it a go. I'm assuming I can set up a partition and dual boot XP and Win7 on the same machine. Does it require the 32 or 64 bit version or doesn't it matter? (Haven't used windows daily for around 10 years)

It would be nice to finally have working high beams as opposed to only the bi-xenon shutter opening and the temp in celsius biggrin

A partition will be fine, i went for x64 but i dont think it matters (check though)

Im still pretty new to it all but learning, give us a shout if you need any help

One word of warning, there are SOME things these clones cannot do due to an active license needed (for example enabling MPG readout on my old V50) - for tasks like these the dealer network is the only option. However they are fully functional on the diagnostic/fault tracing side

Do you reckon I'd be able to change the DRL settings and the auto dim sensitivity?
