I have a XC90 T5 Inscription so don't know all answers but know a couple.

1. Does the Wireless/Inductive Charging along with the Tech Pack mean the car will have Wireless Apple CarPlay, or will I still need to plug in via a USB to get Waze/Spotify etc.? (Spotify is my music delivery of choice).

No apple car play in mine but the spotify app is there and I use it it can stream from your phone but using the app "in car" is easier. Free sim card with a new car with 100gb on it which lasts a year. £100 a year there on.

2. Had a new FFRR 4 years ago & trying to gauge if the XC90 will feel smaller/larger or similar in size?

not as high and feels smaller which I think it is slightly. Doesn't feel that high driving it.

Can only help on point 1 as mine is a lesser Dino-juice only S90. Wireless Apple car play was standard in MY21 cars, so you should have it.

Great spec car - fully loaded! The 22 inch wheels look great although some people do find the ride on the firm side. Not uncommon to swap back to 20s.

I've had a T8 Inscription Pro with the polestar kit for the last 12 months.

It's a great car. The only issue is that the wheels are easy to knock so it's well worth getting the extra insurance

I got a standard charging lead with mine (3 pin plug to type 2).

You can force the car into 'pure' mode but the car will over ride it if you plant your foot and it can take a while to get back into electric only.

Compared to my previous D5 which averaged 29mpg over 25k, the T8 has averaged 42mpg over 9k to date (although my commute has changed)

I'm literally just waiting at the local dealership on the retrofit Polestar upgrade now on my XC90 T8 biggrin

It was in for some warranty work (bizarrely there was some bubbling under the trim on the passenger door since it was delivered last year, and I've just got round to having it sorted) and the Polestar upgrade was a bit of an impulse buy laugh

Volvo offer a 14 day money back guarantee on the software patch so it seemed a good idea to give it a go. I hope I can notice the difference!

@OP - I charge solely on a three pin standard plug and it takes 6 hours or so - it just goes on as soon as I'm home and stays plugged in whenever it's on the drive. I'm coming up to a year in too so according to the app I should have a refund for the electricity of £216 smile. I just leave it in hybrid and let the car do it's thing - it always biases to electric so if you're doing an urban school run generally the engine wouldn't kick in at all (unless it's really cold, or you hoofed it for example).

I'm coming up to 21k over the last 10 months and average 37.1mpg, which for a big old bus really isn't bad (I had a Skoda Kodiaq 190 diesel before and that wasn't much better). I have found anything over 80 and the mpg falls through the floor - if you're going for max mpg cruise at 75 seems the best. Ripping it down a slip road never gets old though - for a big car it really piles the speed on quite well.

I test drove with/without the polestar kit and I think you'll notice the difference. As you say for a big old bus the acceleration is hilarious (it's great fun baiting C63 AMGs in a straight line). People just don't expect it to move that quickly.

My refund is sat at £308 - i've had the car a year but they didn't seem to get on the programme for the first month or so.

Last 7 days - 84 miles, only 2 on petrol. Average is 42.7mpg over the last 4,000 miles. 25/26mpg on a long motorway run through.

I've currently got the alloy wheel repair guy on the drive fixing one of the wheels (looks like the front left will need to go into a machine shop though).

It certainly seemed a bit pokier on the drive home - I'll see how I get on with it over the next couple of weeks. It does make you laugh how it picks up and as you say can surprise other cars!

I clipped my wheel the other month in a multi-storey so will need to get that done at some point too.

Thanks.

Could you expand on the 'refund for the electricity'?

How does this week etc.?

I'm not sure if they're offering this deal any more (from a radio advert it sounds like they've switched to a 'free' install of a charger). In effect the car app is tracking the amount of mileage the car has driven using electric only, they then are applying some sort of logic:

x miles on electric x est. efficiency x a set rate per kWh.

Thanks. I'll check with the dealer when i collect the car.

Had a change of heart & cancelled my order.
