I have just bought a new (to me) xc90 and have a large gap between the boot cover and the rear seats. The manual talks about folding down the front panel to fill this. I cannot see what they are referring to, and wonder if my boot cover is missing a part. Any thoughts or advice? Many thanks.

Hi,

We picked up an XC90 a couple of months ago - I thought the same thing, doesn't seem to be anything to fill the gap on ours either. Have taken the cover out of the car now anyway as it was just getting in the way with kids and dog crates etc constantly in and out.

Thanks. Not just me then. Sadly, in London without privacy glass your solution doesn’t work for me! Anyone else?

have you slid the middle row of seats back?

As above - the 2nd row seats both slide and tilt, so presumably the cover is sized for the shortest load space setting with seats back and reclined?

Yes. Just about acceptable when seat set back and reclined. Otherwise there is a gap of about 4-5 inches. The manual talks about the gap and that there is a flap that fold forwards. I can’t see it or how it may work...

They don't mention a "flap" online - could they be referring to the flap at the door end that you push down to lock it?

From the manual above and pictures I've seen, the load space cover always looked similar to the one we had (have! If anyone needs one smile) on our mk1. It was always more a hindrance than a help so we never bothered getting one for the mk2. We have privacy windows instead smile
