So this arrived today...
Let the build commence
Very tempted by this, but can't justify the price knowing that it will be at least £100 cheaper in a few months. Still smarting from the losses of buying two GT3s at full whack and seeing their prices plummet!!Let the build commence
I know it's not in the spirit of building Lego, but with the far east competition providing such good and cheap alternatives, I struggle to put my hand in my pocket.
Still abiding by the self imposed rule that if it's still in production, I buy Lego though.

I agree, the prices do seem a bit steep these days - I only got back into Lego at Christmas, having previously not picked up a set since I was a kid in the early/mid nineties. Then again, I'm sure the largest sets back then were north of 100 quid, so I guess prices running into a few hundred pounds probably are 'reasonable' taking into account inflation coupled with the fact that the modern top-end sets seem significantly larger and more complex than any I ever had as a child. If this develops into a serious hobby then I will need to think about introducing some self-imposed spending limits!I know it's not in the spirit of building Lego, but with the far east competition providing such good and cheap alternatives, I struggle to put my hand in my pocket.

After I'd ordered the Bugatti, my wife got jealous and has now ordered the rollercoaster for herself - not sure yet whether joint enthusiasm for an expensive hobby like Lego is a good thing or a bad thing in a marriage... without the checks and balances of a disapproving partner we could find ourselves facing financial ruin before the year's out

Speaking as someone who has well north of 100 sets.... brand new and boxed!
Before people wade in with 'crying shame' comments, most are duplicates of sets that have been bought/built, with many more that have been built only.

That's the trouble - it quickly turns into an addiction.

Porsche on offer at Argos - £160
fking Argos.Ordered a GT3 at 2pm for collection after 7pm. Arrived at store complete with reservation order number.
And guess what?
None in stock!!!!
It appears that not enough were ‘in the system’ to cover the demand so they said that they didn’t have any.
So why advertise it & Issue a reservation number?
Still awaiting a reply to that question.
wkers.

Will not be queuing to buy one, shame really, same with 'coaster which would have been sensible at £200.
