Apologies for butting into your thread gents but, somebody sent me a tweet which ended up with this. If a repost then apologies but did check this thread through from Nov17 when it was built, so I did make an effort.

Two videos linked within that page the model and the real thing

Completed the Bugatti Chiron last week. Was an incredible build, the most challenging set I have ever made, but very rewarding. I've now added it to the stairwell with my Ferrari F1 and Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

What are people’s thoughts on the Chiron? Some concerned the price will plummet near to Christmas. They’re changing hands on eBay for short of the £330 retail price.

I can buy 3 units at a very good saving and wondering if to buy and sell on now or sit on them for a year/several years.

Are they a limited edition?

If it’s like the Porsche the price will drop by quite a bit.

Unlike the GT3, the Chiron is exclusive to Lego and John Lewis, like the Creator F40 etc.
So you need JL to have a sale... Which they do, but rarely, and not the big discounts like Argos / Smyths.
The Chiron will be expensive for a looonnnggg time IMO.

I understand the Chiron is exclusive to Lego until around Oct / Nov.

It's a sad indictment of PH that even the Lego thread has become about discounts and residual values, rather than the kits themselves.

The JL/Lego Store exclusivity is usually time limited to the first few months of release these days. Other recent sets have gone wide after a little while.

The Jurassic World T-Rex Transport was an exclusive and stayed firmly at £60 during that time, often sold for more on eBay etc. It's now wide, picked it up for £40 direct from Amazon yesterday.

Ok well let’s hope so. The creator mini/ F40 etc has stayed exclusive to JL the whole time however. We will see.

I will buy a chiron to build over the Christmas break but I'm also holding out for a price drop. I paid what was at the time a good price for the porsche but I could have got it for £50 less by the time I built it. If the chiron does not get discounted then I'll buy at full price
