This is near where i live, a general toy fair though so not sure how Lego would sell http://www.barrypotterfairs.com/fairs.php?fair=13
You could get a stall here, various people sell new/used lego

Unfortunately ebay is probably the best way to get max money by selling individually
I'm up for a Chiron GB if the price is good!
I've just bought the 911 GT3RS and it's brilliant, so much better than I thought.
I needed something to get me off my computer at night and to relax me a bit (work stress), and boy is it working. I've finished build 1 already. Just need to slow down a bit. I might even disassemble and do it again! Took a bit of getting used to at first but now I'm in full swing. When I'm done with this I'm sending it to my old man to get his brain working, think he'll love it.
Anyway £150 from Argos absolute bargain for the amount of design & work involved from Lego.

£150 is great value and actually less than we buy from LEGO! It takes the piss... dont expect it to go much cheaper as its being retired soon.
Dont expect Chiron to be anywhere near that mind, the RRP is nearly £100 more to begin with. Ill have a look shortly and pop an email out to my PH Group Buy Contact list.

Just added myself. Thanks Russ.Just Purchased the Porsche Lego set. After what Russ said above about the price and it being phased out I had to buy it.
I have not built a Technic set in a couple of years and that was the Le Mans car. Recently I started to build the Lego Creator sets like the Ferrari, Mini, Caterham sets. So this is going to be step up and some, in difficulty but im looking forward to it.
Anyone shed some light on the gearbox fault that I have just read?

I've just finished box 2 and hit the gearbox problem. I found this guy on youtube who fixed the problem (I can't help but think he sounds like Private Leonard off FMJ! )

The manual is wrong! This is really bad considering it's been out over 2 years. Don't know why Lego didn't provide an amendment, very lazy considering the price.
Anyway, sore fingers now need a rest!!!

The Chiron is nice, but to me the Porsche is much more iconic as a set so unless the Chiron ever hits £150 I doubt I'll ever get it
Can't really see the Chiron ever hitting that price, based on the price history of the Porsche which had an RRP of £260 but can now be found at £150 the chances of the £330 Bugatti dropping to less than half is slim, I'd say £200 is it's absolute minimum in about a years time..... Unlikely the public will find out about exit dates - but account holders get an idea as it’s detailed in range catalogues.
Porsche started off life at £250 rrp and stayed at >£230 until Black Friday ish when it dropped to £199 and never recovered. After price changes a few mont s after launch the rrp was revised to £260, but the market price never changed. It now sits around that price with the odd retailer whacking it down like Argos are now.
Chiron has a while in it yet. JL whacked it down 25% in the summer whilst they had it exclusively, I imagine the 25% off (£250ish) will be a common price for it throughout the end of November. I’d also bet on a large retailer to then get cold feet with a large stockholding (or want some attention) and drop it even lower, maybe £225.
Hopefully £200 isn’t on the cards for a long time, this represents 40% off and the Porsche has only got there now with this one off Argos deal.
Whilst it’s great for the punters who actually get the cheap deals, the volatility and extreme range of the promotions on these high end technic sets is very damaging to the brand and makes it really hard for smaller retailers to make purchasing decisions. I suppose it has the same affect to half of you, why pay £330 when JL knock off 25% within a few weeks??
Just a few years ago, (think unimog, crawler, crane, Volvo loader) prices rarely dipped 20% below RRP even in big promotions. We now find the likes of Amazon discounting new launches by 25% on launch day!!!
Personally I’d suggest that anything around £250 is a good deal. Also if you are purchasing for Christmas don’t get greedy and hold out too long for a better deal. You can soon miss the boat - as soon as hero products like this go out of stock it only takes a matter of days for the price to jump back up to RRP or above.
