Reference the Bugatti Chiron 42083

Looking at a few sites and am getting different measurements.

Would someone that owns one be kind enough to measure it for me.

Many thanks

Just roughly measured mine: 22” long, about 11.5” wide (end of mirror to end of mirror) and just over 5.5” tall

Sent you a pm with some pictures

Well, I finished the Defender this morning and, call me a heretic, but I didn't really enjoy it.

The experience was marred by my first missing piece (one of the long Olive Green girders) in *decades* of Lego, so that was odd.

But, overall, the model just felt over-engineered. It's a very dense model, with a lot of pieces cleverly squeezed into a small space, but it just felt heavy and a bit of a slog at times during the build. I'ver never experienced that with Lego before: I've always been excited to see what the next step is.

So, overall, I'm a bit meh about it. Is Lego finally loosing it's charm? I think it will only stay built for a week or so. I'll pull it apart and make something of my own before I'm back to work...

Oh well...

And I've just been to Lego's site to get the missing piece through their "missing pieces" service (is that new?) and none of the pieces in that colour are available. Hey, ho...

I felt the same about the Chiron, its a nice model but was sick of it about halfway through.

I won't buy those big flagship models for the very reasons that you listed, too dense and although clever it feels like it's a jigsaw with instructions.

The mustang was my last big car and was great. To me it was just complicated enough but still modifiable, I have made it a convertible and managed to stick power motors and a battery box in it too.

Landy and chiron lack that accessibility to me with my limited time to indulge the hobby.

I've said this for quite some time, building lego technic to me just feels like being an unpaid gearbox assembler.

I find the creator cars etc to be much more enjoyable.

I’m currently watching my niece make the hogwarts express (non technic) and the build has both her and my brother in law very quiet for the last couple of hours. Looks a fun build so I don’t think Lego is loosing the appeal just some builds are more enjoyable.

Each to their own, I understand that a lot will find Technic incredibly enjoyable and satisfying to build but for me, a traditional Lego build is a more artistic pastime. See it, build it, watch it appear before your eyes.

Most modern Technic sets are a complex gearbox that end up looking like the finished item on the last few pages when you push on some body panels-in my opinion.

My favourite build from this year was the newest Guggenheim museum, really well thought out, nice build with some great build techniques that I had never seen.

Looks good when done too.

I also enjoyed the Stranger things set and Trafalgar square.

Now I disagree with you I'm afraid, I build both Technic and Creator sets and enjoy both, but then all of mine are vehicle based, I just really enjoy the way it all comes together.

Not the best image, happy to get something better if you would like.

Hi Bungleaio,

I can see you have a 595c (real car) and a Defender (Lego Technic) - I have both as well. I started assembling the Defender today and I wanted to ask you if you had issues with the front subframe. The black pinion gearwheel (circled in red) and larger grey gear wheel isn't rotating freely as the grey couplings (arrowed in green) doesn't line up with the main subframe (again, arrowed in green). Have you endeavoured the same?

I attach a picture for clarity.

I look forward to your feedback. Thanks.

As per the other thread, you may want this too then...

My 5 years old was gifted this by friends for Xmas - I’m pretty excited to get stuck in helping him to do it.

I bough the Lego Technic off roader for Tom when it was in the sale before Christmas for my son Tom.

Ok I bought it for myslef didn’t I?

Well it was a gift for Tom and I had hoped he would say, Dad it’s too hard to do this bit , and rope me in for help so I could get stuck in.

Well, you know what , no chance, his friend came round for a sleepover on Christmas Day, so he spent about an hour on it, then put it back in the box.

Great I thought, he will be looking for my help when he continues the build.

But damn it, no chance, we had a big family group over for Boxing Day lunch late, but he only went and finished on his own in about three hours flat!

It does look brilliant though, and love the way the whole, chassis twists for maximum articulation.

Will try and get some pictures uploaded, but having issues with iPad picture uploads again.

Merry Lego Christmas everyone!

If you’re using the built in thumb snap on PH when you click upload and select an image at the bottom should pop up a goose file upload size. Change that to anything under 2mb and it will upload fine.
