Trouble is that Smyths have the Sian on offer at £239.99 & the Space Shuttle at £139.99 so which one do I get?
We getting this question when the answer is obviously to get both.

If there is any further debate get the Sian and post the same question in the non-technic thread and then follow the advice and get the shuttle.

Obviously the correct answer is 'both' but if only getting one I would say the Shuttle - it's one of the best Lego builds I've done so far.

^this and ^^ this!

Just recently built the shuttle, and not only is it a hugely fun build, but it's a fabulous display piece as well. And it sits really nicely alongside my Saturn V!

My birthday on the 15th, and it is being suggested I’ve got the shuttle…

Worth knowing; any Argos stickers can be easily removed with a heat gun but like you, I keep all the boxes in as pristine condition as I can so I won't accept a box that looks like it's been chucked down a flight of stairs..!
The box I got this morning looked like Gareth Bale had been hitting it with a golf club for an hour!!!
Pleased to report that other than some (easily-removed) stickers, both Typerwriter and BMW 1000 RR boxes were in superb condition.

Ordered the BMW from Argos earlier, collecting on the way home from work.

If the box is bad I will leave it and try Amazon.

Just to confirm, Argos were great they had 3 in stock and let me chose the best one, mint box and the sticker came off easily.

It looks a stunning model and look forward to building it.

It'll upset/please you lot to know that I've binned all boxes that my Lego/technic came in.

I decided it's no harm to keep them stored flat in case I ever decide to sell them on in future as boxed ones are a lot more valuable/appealing when used. If you're never going to sell, it's never going to be a problem for you!

Have bought loads through Amazon and all fine, until recently where I ordered the McLaren F1 car for my son. Despite listing stating it comes in a protective box, it came as a bare box (which was mashed) and stickered up. Sent back for a replacement, however replacement was also a stickered up original box - but in good condition. It was for my son's birthday so hot gun to remove stickers and re-wrap.

But it seems like sending these sets out with massive delivery stickers on them from whoever is wholesaling/stockpiling them is become more common.

Just ordered the BMW from Amazon at £118 which is supposed to come in protective packaging. We will see!!

FFS. Smyths have increased the price of the Sian.

Back up too £280.00!!!!

Think I'll only be getting the Space Shuttle from them.

Collected the Volvo 6x6 this morning.

This is how it was delivered by the clowns at Yodel.

God only knows what is missing so back it goes. Annoyed. Much.

That's an arse - was it dumped somewhere by the courier? Presumably you didn't sign for it in that condition..!

It was click & collect so assuming damage done by currier.

Never had an issue before - so it has been returned.

The other issue is that the 20% discount code has expired & I have been told that the replacement will not be subject too the 20% discount!!!

Not impressed.

Could you not get Very to exchange it? Surely that would mean the 20% discount doesn't matter?

You can see the bags inside - who knows what's fallen out? Better to return now than risk not being able to return later and have an incomplete model.

Also some of us retain the boxes for if/when we come to sell them on - boxed ones are worth more down the line than unboxed ones.
