After trying various Race of Champions style tracks I think I have now worked out how to replicate the pursuit format. Cars must start from the two inside lanes of the 4 lane section at the back.

Inside track is lot shorter, crossovers needed?
Lane lengths do differ but that is not a problem most of the time, in fact the longest lane in my outgoing circuit has been proven to be faster in competition as there is the opportunity to run the barriers more. Crossovers are a possibility but it is almost impossible to work out exactly where they should go using only software.Extensive testing is required.

What isn't clear from this angle is that the top corners are R4 R3 R3 R2 R3 R3 R2 R3 R3 R4. I will post up the overhead plan later.
Did you design this in the free Scalextric designer?RAClNG SNAKE said:
Yes, it is not well known for it's accuracy and in my experience doesn't cope especially well when you start introducing inclines. However there are a few minor adjustments that can be made to this design if necessary.
I gave up with the Scalextric Track Designer in the end, and went over to Trackpower.Been trying to replicate your plan in Trackpower this afternoon but I can't get the top end right. Look forward to seeing the overhead view.
While I am waiting for delivery of my missing pieces it would be helpful if you could look at this in Trackpower as well.
Here are the variations from above, the main difference is the choice of R3 and R4 in the centre section. My lap counter will actually sit in the middle of the four lane section with pit straights either side of it.

Just taken down the set up I had in the lounge last week. Will post up a picture if I remember tonight.
Had a load of the lads round on Thursdayand would warn anyone on Digital that you have to watch braidware like a hawk. a slight short cuituit on the track and the 6 lane powerbase throws a hissy fit until you have found the car/fine line of braid wire that is causing the issue. We were worried we had blown the whole gig for a few beer addled minutes.
Car buying is going off the scale with a brace of RS200's, Dodge Charger a few extra Porsches, Police car, SLR 722, GTR landing in the last few weeks and the RallyCross box set on the Christmas list

I am loving that. Someone please make it.
My 3 year old has "persuaded me" to get my sets out. Spent far too much money 15 years ago on limited edition cars - my FLY ones are lovely, especially the trucks. Was petrified he'd trash the cars but he has been superb with them - even berating me for crashing . He has even managed a few tail end drifts bless him.
I found this site for layouts: http://ux5490.us/world_tracks.htm
Managed to win a mint petronas schumacher boxed set today of the bay for £27, and a Stig Blomqvist Quattro too. For the boy for xmas obviously
Once the garage is empty of my kit car (boohoo) I'll be building a track in there! Can't wait...
I'd put pics of the nicer cars up but didn't want to hijack.

Yes good point, I am already guilty of hijacking so here's a new thread for my layout.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
