Please don't take this as criticism, because your painting skills are brilliant. One this that hts my ocd is the sides of the plinths. Being unpainted/decorated it breaks the illusion of integration. Is it possible to put some bits on the side so the model blends better with the environment.

Generally, people keep the base rim as black (or, if old school, goblin green!) so it's easy to reference for measuring during gameplay.Catechan look stunning, you have the patience of a saint!
Really need to pull my finger out, I've currently got 96 fully painted bases for models I've built but not painted for my heresy era Blood Angels. And that's ignoring the final bits I need to do to the majority of those that are based!

Those Catachans are incredible - love the cammo painting!I've got loads of metal Tallarn, Vahallan, and Catachan models I need to repaint - along with a couple of unopened boxes of the (20) plastic Catachans. Your posts here are giving me some serious inspiration!
The scenery is superb too.

Anyone excited for Armageddon?
Thought this was the Iran thread for a minute!I keep half an eye on the 40k stuff as it always fascinates me even if I don't play so take this with a pinch of salt but I was a bit "meh" about it. Feels like Marines / Orks is so vanilla, Have they ever done an Eldar or Tau starter set? Think Necrons and Tyrannids have both been done once, the rest are Orks or chaos from what I recall?
Also the whole idea of a permament conflict planet also feels as though there aren't any real stakes. Just a well known place to go for a fight if you're so inclined. Maybe that's just how the trailer came across

I got back into Warhammer after a 25 year gap at beginning of 8th. Loved the new boxed set!9th wow that came round quick, still hyped and bought. 10th starting to get a bit jaded and now it’s 11th! I think I played a total of 4 games of 10th

For someone who plays infrequently the constant rule changes are too much mentally as well as financially. The app is great though.
So no, not hyped for 11th but do love the new models. Just need to find someone who wants to play 2nd edition as that won’t be getting updates any time soon

Yeah, that's cracking.
I'm successfully prevaricating over my 30k Blood Angels as usual.
Custodes battle group arrived this week, so I'm working on a palette cleanser. Found a nice grim dark scheme I think I can do justice to. The new custodes sculpts are just stunning - no more squat and blocky dudes (cause there's now dudettes too!).

Stunning - and confusing (just like it's supposed to be!) - all at the same time.
Weren't you tempted to get the magnets and putty out and make the 'octoblade'?

I was gifted this 20+ years ago. I originally did a mild conversion for my Orks. Found it stashed away at my parents just as I was starting the Catachan project. Tried to rescue it the best I could.Stunning - and confusing (just like it's supposed to be!) - all at the same time.

The side sponsons are resin printed because I wasnt going to pay silly prices for the original ones
