Complete sets sell better than random skips of bits. If you have the time then build all you a van and sell separately. eBay does sell well and separate sets would reduce the risk to you.
You may find a buyer on here, some sets and bits have sold in the past via PMs.

Me, personally, I do like buying random boxes as my kids love building of stuff that pops in to their heads (they're quite talented at doing this, even at 6 and 10) - I'd be interested, but it sounds like the amount you have would be cost prohibitive for me frown

Yup sorry should have been clearer - the recent models are all complete and built and come with the manuals; the older stuff is a mix of built sets (although they will have been heavily modified as I rebuilt/expanded them when I was younger) and the 3 tubs of random standard and technic bits.

JTW - if you're interested in the older random stuff I'd probably let it go quite cheap; however it'll be a while until I'm back up at my dad's to sort through all the stuff and organise/photograph it.

I really should have sold all mine separately as 23kg of lego doesn't fetch much

Mostly town stuff from the late 90s;

Fire Station
Police Station
Airport (can't find a reliable link for this one but if you google 90s lego airport it's the more modern set with the yellow twin-engined heli and the plane)
Launch Pad
Petrol Station
+ 30-odd road/base plates
+ the boxes of assorted bits and pieces.
+ some other random sets I cannot quite recall; I know there was a race track/team set in there, + a boat set but it got repurposed. Also had the large helicopter-transporter but it was knocked-down for parts to be reused elsewhere. Also had the fighter-jet transporter - that's still made up and should be in original condition!

I never got any of the castle or pirate sets but I did pick up a few space sets (can't recall which - I never got the space mono-rail base which I always lusted after!) which I think eventually got repurposed for MOC construction type models. There was enough random bits for me to build a small town with 15-ish houses/buildings and a range of cars, jeeps and vehicles.

I haven't looked in the boxes in years so would really need to visit my dads to get an understanding of just what is there and what kind of condition it's in. But it should be in decent nick - lego was my favourite toy.

In terms of the larger sets, I have the Unimog, Mini, Camper Van, Caterham and Flatbed truck; I also have the 8880 Technic Black Super Car set that is built, although it's bit dusty and the non-black pieces have faded.

PM me if you're interested in anything; don't want the mods banning me from the forums!

A friend is selling his modular collection and a few other bits if anyone is looking for certain sets. Some of the discontinued ones in there and a few other nice sets to.

It's funny, it's not really dissimilar to video games. The more modern equivalent sets are much more complex, detailed and polished, but really no more playable.

I’m not a big fan of the Speed Champions sets because the proportions and details are so bad, but the green 911 Turbo looks great. Weird stretched tyres though.

Anyone used Hydrogen Peroxide to clean up white bricks? Is it 3% you need?

Yes 3% and some sunlight for a few hours. I have been trying to find some in a high street shop but failed. Don't fancy buying chemicals off Ebay so might have to be Amazon. Any better ideas anyone ?

The sunlight is a bit (well, a lot) of a myth. The peroxide breaks down into oxygen ions which reacts with the fire retardant bromine on the surface of the plastic which has leached out. People got distracted by the sunlight aspect, originally believing it to be the UV that was important. The crucial thing is temperature. In computer restoration circles, this is known as Retrobrite. RetroManCave has done some investigations into the matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05RSh3d-EuA

TL;DR: Light doesn't matter, temperature does. Sorted.

That was my thought too but Ebay seems to have lots of it.

So whats the answer instead of UV/Sun ? That vid is 23mins with no conclusion or notes.
