Oooooh! Very nice! Was it on offer somewhere by any chance..?
I'm afraid not! My father passed away recently and I was under instructions to treat myself to this sort of thing with some of the money he left so this is a gift from dad, thanks dadlouiechevy said:

I'm afraid not! My father passed away recently and I was under instructions to treat myself to this sort of thing with some of the money he left so this is a gift from dad, thanks dadIMO this is a great choice of "thing" to buy with that money - it's always going to be way, way cool to look at, it's always going to be worth good money (not that you'll sell it, but it's just good to know you bought something that retains some value), and you get the pleasure of building it.
As others have said, sorry to hear about your Dad, but so nice that you should buy something special with anything you get. Enjoy the build, it's a bit of a slog towards the end, I broke my build of it up over quite a few weeks. But the finished article is spectacular, as others have also said, the problem is having somewhere to display it once complete, hence why, like others, mine is in the loft in pieces.
Thanks to every one for your sympathy, As to displaying it despite being nearly 56 I still live in my parents house my mum passed away a few years ago. I had mentioned to my dad that I would like the Falcon but had nowhere to put it and he said well when i'm gone you will have a spare room to put it in!

Bought the Caterham set second hand. I did not appreciate how much time I would spend trying to find the individual pieces due to them not being in bags (as a new one would be). I enjoyed the build though and did not find it as fragile as has been described on these pages.
Mine is currently sat on the recovery truck with 2 wheels & the exhaust system missing!!!!
