I'm afraid not! My father passed away recently and I was under instructions to treat myself to this sort of thing with some of the money he left so this is a gift from dad, thanks dad

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I was only looking at this in the Lego store on Sunday.

IMO this is a great choice of "thing" to buy with that money - it's always going to be way, way cool to look at, it's always going to be worth good money (not that you'll sell it, but it's just good to know you bought something that retains some value), and you get the pleasure of building it.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Enjoy the build. I've got one in the loft to build but got no space for the finished article.

As others have said, sorry to hear about your Dad, but so nice that you should buy something special with anything you get. Enjoy the build, it's a bit of a slog towards the end, I broke my build of it up over quite a few weeks. But the finished article is spectacular, as others have also said, the problem is having somewhere to display it once complete, hence why, like others, mine is in the loft in pieces.

Thanks to every one for your sympathy, As to displaying it despite being nearly 56 I still live in my parents house my mum passed away a few years ago. I had mentioned to my dad that I would like the Falcon but had nowhere to put it and he said well when i'm gone you will have a spare room to put it in!

Current state on the Falcon, despite using a tape measure before I ordered to see how big it would be I really didn't appreciate how big it would be!

Could you 3D print some brackets and hang it on a wall? If I had one Id want to display it like a picture.

Good progress there mate.

My typewriter arrived this morning so I'm about halfway through it, just wrapping up for the evening, been a good build so far.

Bought the Caterham set second hand. I did not appreciate how much time I would spend trying to find the individual pieces due to them not being in bags (as a new one would be). I enjoyed the build though and did not find it as fragile as has been described on these pages.

My local Sainsbury's has the Lego Speed Champions 911 reduced to £6.50 when I was in today.

I've already got it but a great price if anyone was looking for it.
