This set was next on my list of ones that I want (and its currently £180 on Amazon/Smyths) until one of the reviewers pointed out that a lot of the 'windows' stick out rather than being flush and now I cannot see past that

I still think it would make an excellent dust collector though so will see if the price drops any further.

They do, but it's still superb. Really they should be recessed, but I don't think that could be done in Lego below minifig scale, which would be thousands.

Thay could have just printed bricks rather than tiles for a flush fit, or you could get a lego printer to do it for you if it annoys you that much.

He s selling 4 though, so selling all of them at£2.5k each + fees would be bad value for the buyers.

If your new to auctions and don t realise the fee is almost 30% your in for a shock when it comes time to pay.

Could be someone that s died maybe?

Don t forget there s also sellers commission as well as buyers!

It ll only go for what someone is willing to pay.

If it s worth £3k and a buyer REALLY wants it,gets it for £2.5k plus fees then happy days. It s only going to go one way in value .unless they do the right thing and open it to build it!

Agree that E Type is awful, but if they start making too many bespoke parts then it takes away too much from it being Lego for me.

Some sets lend them selves really well to lego, like the BTTF Delorean and the Caterham.

However, if they cant build it to look haf decent then they shouldn't bother.

For me this E Type is one of the worst sets in recent years, it looks like a cheap Chinese fake.

Saw the e-type in the bluewater Lego shop today, wanted to hate it but it looks much better in real life than the photos suggest. Worst bit for me was how the headlight lenses overlap the bumper but it’s not a bad effort, the shape doesn’t lend itself to Lego bricks.

I was tempted by it, but the reviews say it's particularly fragile. I like a set that can survive my three year old looking at it.

Some serious ££££ to invest there! But looks like it's a well stocked shop full of goodies!

Off sick this week

Been sorting out the Lego cupboard and other bits

Gave the dust magnets a good clean up as they really do a marvellous job as dust magnets.

Came up nicely. (Shelf to the left is tomorrow s job .knackered. Probs why I m off sick)

Added Home One Starcruiser to the shelf as it s been hanging around unopened for months.

The midi-size ship series really are good fun builds and considering the scale there s a lot of very clever little details and they make great display pieces







Literally dozens more sets owned but lack of space (or rather ‘space not to be used for Lego) means they’re safely tucked away

Currently 2/3 through the Falcon...epic build but not sure where i can display it...thinking of hanging from ceiling in my office.

Looks good, I have the large (76139) one that has since been discontinued. This (in various guise) was at the time available with 'other' bricks and MOC's so it seems that Lego is taking some cues from that world. Will probably get as well as it does look great.

I was a little disappointed it's not the same size as the older one (which I have unboxed still), but I like the extra features on this one so am very tempted to add it to the pile of unbuilt stuff. Actually, as it's smaller it might actually get built first!

Mine isn't actually the light kit, its more a DIY botch job!

I bought replacement LED strips that were supposed to be for those trainers with light up soles and shoe-horned them in. As a result I can have whatever coloured engines I like!
